He may no longer be here… but his Qur’an recitation still lives on. 🤍📖
May Allah forgive him, have mercy on him, and make the Qur’an a light in his grave.
The Africa Forward Summit opens in Nairobi today and France’s choice of venue tells you more than the agenda does.
Paris has lost significant ground across West Africa in three years. Mali. Burkina Faso. Niger. Guinea. Choosing Nairobi and an English speaking co-host is not diplomacy as usual. It is a recalibration driven by necessity not generosity.
Africa has sat through serious agendas before. This summit will be judged not by what gets announced today but by what gets financed and implemented in the twelve months that follow.
Africa is not short of summits. It is short of the capital and implementation that summits are supposed to unlock.

There’s an investment opportunity we shouldn’t miss as Muslims, especially those with kids, make sure, no matter what, your kids memorize the Holy Quran and act upon its teachings.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“Whoever recites the Qur’an, learns it, and acts upon it, his parents will be crowned on the Day of Resurrection with a crown whose light is better than the light of the sun in the houses of this world…”
~Sunan Abu Dawud
Beyond memorization itself, a child raised with the Qur’an often grows with stronger character, discipline, fear and love of Allah, respect for parents, and guidance in life.
Even after parents pass away, a righteous child connected to the Qur’an becomes a source of ongoing reward (sadaqah jariyah). Every recitation, every prayer, every good deed inspired by the Qur’an can continue benefiting the parents in their graves.
You may leave wealth for your children, but one of the greatest things you can leave inside your children is the Qur’an. It can become light for them in this dunya and light for you in the akhirah.
May Almighty Allah guide us. Ameen.
“I need you to understand,” the Man said, “that the helmet incident was not what led to the war. We had already assembled the army, gathered arms and supplies, and put the structure in place.”
what the incident did was accelerate the inevitable.

my investigation, which documents how the boko haram army was formed, trained, and organized, as well as the sociological factors that made that kind of radicalisation possible, is out now at @HumAngle_.

The imam preached that outside the obligatory five daily prayers, there are three powerful voluntary prayers that each Muslim should endeavour to be doing.
Doing them, will open ways you never thought about.
He mentioned them to be
1. the rakaatani fijr, the two rakat before the Fijr
2. Salatul Duha, it's a prayer observed before the day gets busy for you.
3. Witr prayer, the closing solat of the day.
If one is fond of observing these voluntary prayers, Allah will ease for him all his affairs.
May Allah make us to always observe them
Applications for the BRIDJE Fellowship are now open until May 7.
We invite Journalists interested in climate & energy reporting to collaborate with researchers and create impactful, evidence-based stories.
