@JuanSGalt@Coincidence0000@id_nmc The WebExtensions API, to my knowledge, doesn't expose the functionality that you'd need for resolving .bit domains. Is your easiness concern related to it being Debian, or something else?
@JuanSGalt@Coincidence0000@id_nmc Would you consider a Debian package for .bit resolution (i.e. you run "sudo apt-get install ncdns" and your Debian machine now resolves .bit domains) to be a productive endeavor? If not, can you clarify what you'd prefer and why?
@JuanSGalt@Coincidence0000@id_nmc Agreed that centralized exchange listing is nowhere near the top of the priorities, and that interoperability work makes a lot more sense.
@JuanSGalt@Coincidence0000@id_nmc "Did tor integrate them as a DNS layer?" <-- We announced some major work on this front at the Tor Lisbon meeting in May 2024, and work has been ongoing since then.
@RaptorCompSys Would a Talos II with 2 CPU's get better memory bandwidth performance with 8x 64GiB DIMMs or 16x 32GiB DIMMs? (I.e. is it better to leave half the slots empty or use all of them?) Any effects beyond memory bandwidth? Is it application-dependent?
@kimdogex@Coincidence0000@Allaboutbit I tend to take a @fluffypony approach regarding minimizing the claimed usefulness of stuff I work on, so that I can be confident that no one is getting overly optimistic impressions. *shrug*
@kimdogex@Coincidence0000@Allaboutbit Yeah, it's fair to say that Namecoin fixes it in the sense that it improves Tor's UX and therefore improves Tor's ability to fix it. It just wasn't clear that that was the intended meaning, since Namecoin can also be used without Tor.
@Coincidence0000@Allaboutbit Not clear to me that Namecoin is relevant here; Twitter is not (to my knowledge) using a DNS registrar/registry that's within EU jurisdiction, so presumably censorship of Twitter would be done by firewall rules (China-style).
@1440000bytes I don't suppose you have suggestions for Bitcoin wallets who either currently do ECDH or might do so soon, who might be interested in working with us on this?
@1440000bytes I'm certainly supportive of ECDH deployment in Bitcoin, and if there's interest from Bitcoin ECDH users in using Namecoin with it, I'm supportive of that use case. But, I would hazard a guess that we're not talking about many users right now. I'd love to see that change!
