@ProfPaulPoast CFD nerds like myself know LFR mostly as the grandfather of weather forecasting, turbulence theory, computer modelling, medical ultrasound and fractal and chaos theory. Nice to see he's revered for his equally seminal contributions to the humanities.

As I've argued before (especially to my captive-audience students ;-) LFR is the giant upon whose shoulders rests so much of what interests me: turbulence, modelling, imaging, chaos. His work on conflict modelling was also groundbreaking, so nice to see it recognized here.
