The beautiful summer-plumaged Long-tailed Duck that continues to grace the Cuckmere with its presence. A plumage I've not seen in the UK before and what a performer he is. Bloody brilliant ๐คช
Well what can liven a tough Selsey seawatch...?? 2 frickin' Bee-eaters coming in over the assembled crowd and then - even better - hanging around for 3/4 of an hour!!! Absolutely bloody awesome!! ๐
Bizarrely, 26yrs to the day since I saw my last one at the Bill ๐
The cracking Spotshank up Ferry channel looks pretty much as good as they get......and it shows beautifully which in itself is unusual as normally the blacker they get, the more skittish they get. Wonder when it'll head north?
Well, what a bird!! The stunning male Bluethroat at Swineham GPs did what every good bird should - sat and posed about 10ft in front of the assembled crowd!! Fantastic stuff, especially when it perched atop a bush and began singing....๐คช
Another class local bird - not as rare as the shrike - but just as beautiful: the spanking Spotshank in almost full summer plumage that is liking the Ferry channel lately. Absolutely stonking wader!
Cracking male Woodchat today around Honer Reservoir, to the rear of Pagham Harbour. My 1st on the peninsula since '07 so much appreciated and a great find by Jim Weston in a very under-watched area ๐๐ป
