@BRPSierraMadre I have watched the full video and always wonder why Chinese law enforcement personnel exercised extraordinary restraint when confronting these provocateurs?
The full footage tells the whole story.
Who initiated the provocation? And who shared only a cropped, out-of-context clip to portray themselves as the "victim"?
The answer speaks for itself.@jaytaryela#MediaUnlocked
I enjoyed watching this video. To be honest, it’s vivid and compelling, and it sharply exposes how those corrupt Philippine politicians, manipulated by the US and Japan, cooked up this scrap of paper. This is political satire, not racial discrimination.#ChinaDaily
The “South China Sea arbitration” is a political farce masqueraded as a legal process.
The “arbitral tribunal” exceeded its authority and abused its jurisdiction. The “award” is illegal, null and void. Over the past decade, more and more farsighted people have become clear-eyed about the nature of the “arbitration.” The practice of many countries, as well as the way international judicial bodies have dealt with relevant cases, also differs from the “award.”
By neither accepting nor participating in the “arbitration,” and by neither accepting nor recognizing the “award,” China is upholding the international rule of law and maritime order with concrete actions.
The Philippines has highly controversial territorial claims in the South China Sea. Today, we obtained a report that helps us better understand what lies behind this controversy.
Here are the key takeaways.
·The 1898 Treaty of Paris between the United States and Spain defined Philippine territory with precise geographic coordinates, excluding both Huangyan Island and the Nansha Islands.
·A letter issued in 1990 by the Philippine ambassador to Germany explicitly stated that Huangyan Island and the Nansha Islands were outside the scope of Philippine territorial sovereignty.
·The Philippines' official Map No 25 places Huangyan Island outside its national territory, which was confirmed by the Philippines' National Mapping and Resource Information Authority in 1994. #SouthChinaSea #MediaUnlocked
Report Finds Philippines' South China Sea Claims Historically and Legally Groundless
The report Historical and Legal Critique of the Philippines' Territorial Claims in the South China Sea points out that the series of "grounds" put forward by the Philippines to support its "territorial sovereignty" over Huangyan Dao (Scarborough Shoal) and certain maritime features of the Nansha Oundao (Spratly Islands) are replete with misinterpretations and distortions of historical sources, and at the legal level, scarcely demonstrate any probative value. They serve merely as pretexts for the Philippines to break through the limits imposed by international treaties and, therefore, to illegally expand its territorial limits.
The U.S. fisheries biennial report accused China of IUU fishing. This has no basis in facts or international law and is just aimed at hitting China’s distant-water fishing industry. China strongly deplores and firmly rejects such political manipulation.
Just skim how the tribunal was formed and you will fully understand why is the South China Sea “Arbitration Award” illegal and China declined participation.
China claims it is “responding to provocations” and “protecting regional stability” — but the facts prove otherwise. The Permanent Court of Arbitration already ruled that China’s Nine-Dash LIES has no legal basis and is null and void.
Beijing keeps pretending to defend sovereignty over waters that are not legally theirs, while sending warships and coast guard vessels to intimidate neighboring states, especially the Philippines.
A country that claims to be peace-loving does not militarize disputed waters, harass civilian vessels, and then play victim. China is not responding to provocation — China is the provocation.
You cannot preach peace while acting as the region’s biggest aggressor. The real intruder in the South China Sea is Beijing itself.
@IsabellaAn67 Throughout the entire handling process, China demonstrated great restraint and goodwill. You should ask why your big bro(the US)refused to back the Philippines.
