The most in demand job of the near to mid term future? The Verifier. As AI scales, it will eventually act outside the scope of its original commands as we've seen already happen. We need human managers to oversee this risk (which will most likely entail the use of AI ironically)
Hot take. Gold > Bitcoin for sovereign adoption in the near term.
The US (including US companies) already controls ~5% of the BTC supply.
Do you really think other countries are going to play a rigged game where the US starts with that much?
They won't. They’ll stick to gold.
@aicceleratedao I have previously helped with AI related feedback from my financial and engineering background in the web2+web3 space. I would love to participate and hopefully can help Aiccelerate!
@markus9x@ai16zdao If the decision was made to do a single token other additional changes:
- unit bias change
- remove token mintability function (looks bad on dexscreener/coingecko/etc)
- add liquiding on other chains like ethereum, base, hyperliquid
@markus9x@ai16zdao@markus9x If this hasn’t already been discussed, consolidating DegenAI and AI16z into a single token could help address the recurring confusion around tokens. This might seem innocuous but this unified approach would create a stronger Schelling point driving clearer alignment.
AI memes and related cryptocurrency tokens are poised to lead in returns this cycle. The key lies in recognizing the macro AI trend and the limited access retail investors have to private funding rounds of major players like OpenAI and Anthropic.
This trend likely extends beyond online poker to any online activity (eg online mmporgs) that generates value from time, especially in ecosystems where value can be extracted out. To prevent this, someone needs to solve real time proof of humanity detection.
Curious about AI’s impact on society? Look at online poker as an interesting, early window into the future.
Why?
Online poker is a multi billion dollar economy and will be worth exactly $0 over the next few years. The fall of this economy will be a harbinger of what’s possible as generalized AI advances are applied to the “low hanging fruit” markets.
Agents are becoming smart enough - reasoning, memory, chain of thought - that poker playing agents will run over the human population in legal poker sites and will make money for their creators.
But won’t these bots be stopped?
These aren’t bots. They are agents - and will know how to lose certain hands, creating an illusion of normalcy. They will learn to “shear the sheep” vs “skin the sheep”.
You can expect that online poker leaderboards will flip to names you’ve never heard of and those names won’t be real people but groups of programmers making money.
I suspect that most people stop playing online for money pretty quickly and the economic value of this market implodes.
Personalized video games and movies are on the horizon. With generative machine learning models able to predict each frame faster than humans, all we need to do is choose the adventure or story we want to experience as the prompt input.
Google researchers just developed GameNGen, an AI that can simulate DOOM at over 20 fps
It works by predicting each frame in real time with a diffusion model
At scale this could mean AI will be able to create games on the fly, personalized to each player
It could be a positive sign for the crypto industry that Kamala Harris now supports building the southern US border wall. Fingers crossed that she may also push to fire Gary Gensler and advocate for a Bitcoin reserve.
