Bitcoin Core 0.21.1 Released With Taproot Activation Code.
The update includes mainnet and testnet activation parameters for the Taproot soft fork (BIP341), which also adds support for Schnorr signatures (BIP340) and tapscript (BIP342).

so some explaining about "modern soft-fork" - today's soft-forks are better than previous ones, hardened against issues observed in previous upgrades. I think most people commenting are not aware of modern SF - it may need a catchier name like a safe/v2 soft-fork or something.
