Insane I can move 18k lines in a few hours and have no issues.
Being a dev is so fucking cool right now how does anyone not love this?
Spammers last week: we hate spam as much as anyone
Spammers this week: spam doesn’t exist
Spammers yesterday: no BIP-110 block will ever be mined
Spammers today: only one BIP-110 block will ever be mined
Bitcoin is money. 🧡 #BIP110
@trq212 Can you stop making CLAUDE.md the new Internet Explorer, please? Just start using the AGENTS.md file like all others; offer backward compatibility.
NEW: OpenClaw founder Peter Steinberger banned a contributor for simply mentioning the word “Bitcoin” on the OpenClaw server.
The user was referencing Bitcoin’s block height as a clock, not even using it for transactions.
Steinberger says he hates “crypto.” At some point, he may have to learn the difference between crypto and Bitcoin.
Why does this Bitcoin Core maintainer hate Bitcoin maximalists so much? Is it really so "narrow-minded" to hate shitcoins? Ironic, too, that she is against "gate-keeping" given Core's recent behavior
I am happy that all of the objections to bip444 have been resolved.
We can now happily move forward together to adopt it because:
-we all believe that spam exists,
- it doesn't belong on bitcoin, and
- we should be hostile to it.
🙂🤗
An absolute cracker of a video from Matthew, he has destroyed "Bitcoin Straight Up" assumptions with facts. The amount of Proof of Work Matt is providing us lately is simply incredible. This man loves Bitcoin, a true legend.
General thoughts about forking:
The plebs just want you not to screw with their money, and will take steps to preserve their money should it become threatened.
That's the sum total of their interest in the ongoing discussion about spam and Bitcoin more generally.
They don't have:
- paid sponsorships
- investors
- interests in treasury stonks
- speaking gigs at conferences
- relationships they want to build/maintain
- horse-trades they're in the middle of
- grants/funding to protect
- personal likes/dislikes getting in the way of development/discussion
- agendas to satisfy
- targets on their back due to their influence/risk of blackmail
- boredom/frustration with the conservative nature of Bitcoin development
The minute you do anything within the Bitcoin industry, all this stuff immediately starts clouding your decision making.
It's the first thing that gets brought up about me in any discussion - the fact that I work at OCEAN, to which I gladly point out that I was running ordisrespector before OCEAN existed or I knew of Luke's intention to revive his old mining pool.
Because I'm a Bitcoiner and a bunch of crypto-scammers were screwing with my money and I wasn't having it.
And I believe once again the power of those who have a single focus on Bitcoin succeeding is ripe for expressing itself again while people with other options can make use of those instead.
As for specifics of consensus rule changes to limit arbitrary data, that's clearly underway but I don't think anyone knows what it looks like exactly yet.
I was only curious about this UASF until I saw Jameson Lopp working like a madman to undermine and poison it.
Now I’m determined to support it with everything I’ve got. #Bip444
Bitcoin doesn't need DeFi
Bitcoin doesn't need NFTs
Bitcoin doesn't need Web3
Bitcoin doesn't need Metaverse
Bitcoin doesn't need ICOs
Bitcoin doesn't need Memecoins
Bitcoin is money and it doesn't need to be anything else.
They're spelling it out.
The changes in Core v30 make it easier for them to "Enable new forms of crowdfunding, staking, and digital economies on Bitcoin L1."
Make no mistake, this is shitcoining, and it is a net negative to Bitcoin. Any "use case" that isn't making sending and receiving sats cheaper or more private IS an abuse case. They all make using Bitcoin as intended—i.e., as a medium of exchange across space and time—more expensive.
And no, there is no proof that the change will lead to "less destructive" shitcoining. What's more likely is that it will lead to more shitcoining.
Resist it by any means you can!
Run @BitcoinKnots, or at least don't upgrade. And, perhaps most importantly, call out scams whenever you see them.
The shitcoiners are running out of gullible morons to scam. "Crypto" is dead. That's why they now have to find new fools in the Bitcoin space.
Bitcoin is perhaps the most important software project in human history. Defend it, ffs!
