Ey up! I talk candidly in this video about my life story, when #access failed & why, some home truths, what I’ve found to work, who really benefits from access & how you can help #a11y#Deaf#BSL#Deafblind#RSI#Diversity#Inclusion https://t.co/YlRtCdn7iM
@femina_iuris@Hull_Trains Fair point - I think it was a handover to LNER as they were the station owner?
I did wonder how we’d scale hundreds of taxis in a small town that late at night? Which taxi company can scale?
Out of interest, did you see any @BTP at Doncaster?
I wanted to share my experience on the 19:04 #LondonKingsCross last night - stuck on the train for 5 hours.
Despite everything, the atmosphere was amazing - people laughing, sharing seats, and really looking out for each other. A genuinely wonderful group of travellers.
Special mention also to the @LNER handover at Doncaster - getting so many of us home in the early hours (with limited taxis!) was no small feat.
A tough night, but a real reminder of the good in people & teamwork. I hope all the staff gets some well-earned rest soon!
But above all, huge thanks to @Hull_Trains staff - train manager, trolley team and others - all reassuring and positive in very difficult circumstances. They must have had aching jaws from smiling apologetically for 5 hours. Water, snacks and going up and down the carriages.
Our new PM @keir_starmer pledged today outside @10DowningStreet that the @UKLabour government would treat “every single person in this country with respect.”
Does that pledge include #Deaf people?
Where was the #BSL interpreter as he addressed the UK public for the first time?
@UKLabour@DisabilityLab
The UK #Deaf community is desperately hoping that Sir @Keir_Starmer will be standing beside a #BSL interpreter when he addresses the nation for the first time today.
@BDA_Deaf has an interpreter ready and waiting outside No. 10.
Please work with them!

@EastMidRailway I have Advance Single ticket for Wellingborough to Luton dep at 18:23 however it is cancelled as are all other times. I wonder if I can use the same ticket and get to Luton via St Pancras?
Hey @WFDeaf_org there is no such thing as neutrality when power or oppression is at play. If you state that you're neutral, you take the side of the oppressor. Human rights aren't pick and mix either, you can't seek to use whilst disregarding other rights. You use public funds.
“By permitting the UAE to host the next World Congress without highlighting LGBTQIA+ issues, @WFDeaf_org could be seen to endorse the UAE’s discriminatory and punitive stance” — @BDA_Deaf
Our statement: British Deaf Association voices serious concerns over suitability of the United Arab Emirates to host the next World Federation of the Deaf Congress in 2027 due to country’s anti-LGBTQIA+ stance.

@MsLoloJ@FaeroyGlenn@BslSign Ah yes I remember that sign! :) Worth asking our friend Emma this Saturday about it, as I seem to recall Boston Spa friends using it. The "throw a party" sign was another popular one.
