@ErnestZamelczyk@sameeraswdotcom ADB is useful not just for development. It's the fastest and most reliable way to copy files to/from the device. Easy to install apps. Allows you to grant some permissions needed by more advanced apps. Gives you logcat access, etc. ADB is the first thing I enable on a new phone.
@WinRAR_RARLAB@BusyTadpole It's probably worth mentioning that somewhere on the page people see when they go to buy it. 🙂 I imagine you lose out of some percentage of sales from home users because of that.
@WinRAR_RARLAB I finally read the license and just now realized that "Single PC usage license" actually means you're allowed to use it on all your own computers if you're a home user. 😄 That prevented me from buying it a few years ago, something I have now rectified! 👍
@geerlingguy Can you provide some examples? I have yet to come across a device that doesn't either just work or happily runs IPv4-only on a dual-stack network.
@SiddharthMBB @davepl1968 No, as the name suggests, KMSPico is a reverse engineered reimplementation of the KMS activation server normally meant to run on a corporate network to reactivate machines at minimum every 180 days. Feel free to read the MS documentation for KMS. 🙂
@ArtemR Can you confirm that it's limited to 160 MHz channel width on 6 GHz WiFi? Google's specs don't specify, and the Pixel demo app on store units claim it's limited to WiFi 6E.
@ssamat Then please let those of us who don't want/need training wheels on our phones opt-out of this requirement. I've been using Android since 1.5 and have yet to install a single malware. If I wanted to be treated like I'm clueless, Apple is an option.
So after playing around with it a bunch to see what I can do, I have some pretty complicated feelings about the Spotify Car Thing at this point. Obviously the entire sequence of events sucks. But I do see one thing being incorrectly stated by a lot of journalists and YouTubers.
@TheBlakeZone@anerdguynow That's why it's the first thing you disable. Utterly useless feature. There is a registry hack to disable it and at least used to be a GPO as well. It also used to be a simple UI option, but it was removed.
