The Voice is saddened to hear of the passing of well loved RAF Veteran Gilbert Clarke, who has died, aged 100.

On this day in 1988, Dr. Patricia Era Bath received a patent for her Invention, the Laserphaco Probe, used in eye surgery to remove cataracts and also founded the American Institute for the Prevention of Blindness.
She restored sight to millions of people suffering from cataracts.
Tumi Fola, a 23-year-old Black woman from the UK, became the first blind Black female lawyer (barrister) in the United Kingdom.
She qualified despite major challenges and is now inspiring others in similar situations.
