@mtsw Maybe that’s why certain segments of the right wing US population shouldn’t be allowed to vote. They’re clearly inferior people, why do we involve them in governance?
@Noahpinion Looking at just home prices is also not the most useful since what people actually pay is their mortgage which is determined by interest rates. https://t.co/80X3pGNlNb
@pr0fiteer@arindube Were you actually wanting to discuss the difference between a centrist and the median voter or were you just looking to say you think centrists are bad? Cuz I’m not sure how this is relevant to the original point I made
@pr0fiteer@arindube Abortion with term limits. Centrism is trying to find middle ground between Rs and Ds. Median voter usually holds positions on issues that are either farther left or right than a typical centrist would. There are places where they line up but it’s not required that they do
@GeorgeMcElhinn2 @birdzilla6@queersocialism My point is if we take the 1940-50s as the baseline for Europe and America, and the fact that America was in a better place than Europe at that time, then it’s hard to excuse America’s choices. Europeans countries didn’t push for non-meritocracy or ignore capital markets
@BryanD600 @Noahpinion@jasonfurman We are literally going in circles here. You don’t like to acknowledge the context of the situation where ppl willingly made the choice for this “bad tradeoff”. Acting as if they had no choice “being on the tracks”. God this wld be easier if you wld just do the freaking WhatsApp
@BryanD600 @Noahpinion@jasonfurman Wait so when you said injured ppl putting themselves in front of the trolley were relevant to the discussion did you mean everyone but ppl who already had been hit by the trolley? Because that’s what the “seems relevant” part means. Nothing about “feelings” you keep bringing up
@BryanD600 @Noahpinion@jasonfurman You don’t seem to like/understand my points and if you genuinely don’t and quote things I didn’t say like “I feel this is how it is” then I think we should talk and figure it out. Do you want to figure it out or not? We can work through this I think
@BryanD600 @Noahpinion@jasonfurman This is an important argument and the points aren’t coming through to you clearly. Don’t you want to figure this out?
