Eid Al-Adha arrived with heavy hearts for so many in Gaza last week. Since Eid Al-Adha the year before, countless parents, children, siblings, and loved ones have been martyred.

Families who once gathered together at a table now live in displacement camps and tents. The traditions they cherished including visiting relatives, sharing meals, celebrating together, have become memories they hold onto through unimaginable hardship.
At Sheikh Ajlin Camp in Gaza City, Translating Falasteen x The Sameer Project distributed 200 kilograms of meat to displaced families, providing a small connection to the Eids they remember and the lives that were stolen from them. For many children, this was a rare opportunity to enjoy meat and experience a piece of the holiday they once knew.
There was hardly any livestock avaiable for sacrifice this year, so the frozen meat that we purchased cost nearly $17 per kilogram, and for this distribution the 200 kilograms of meat, cost a total of $3,257 after 11% commission and helped bring comfort and dignity to families celebrating under some of the hardest conditions imaginable.

Families are still telling you that they need water. The situation on the ground has not improved - fuel is expensive and scarce and the lack of its availability is shutting down small water stations. https://t.co/6l9JFjXgdv There is not enough volume of clean water being produced to cover all areas. And the occupation has destroyed or cut off all infrastructure and pipes to deliver water to hard to reach areas.
We can help by purchasing truck loads and bringing water to underserved locations. On May 16, Translating Falasteen (@translatingpal) The Sameer Project’s North team provided 322,000 liters of fresh drinking water.

When Eid was coming, parents in Gaza felt helpless to do the usual rituals and celebrations for their children. Something as simple as a new outfit for the kids was unattainable for most. Support Gaza here: https://t.co/6l9JFjWInX
The Sameer Project did sweets distributions, meat distributions and more for Eid. But we covered a fraction of what we usually do due to the drop in funds. Your support is needed.
On May 21st, the Translating Falasteen x The Sameer Project team gave out 515 schnitzel sandwiches to Ansar Camp 5 in Gaza City. Total cost with 11% commission was $1,552.

Surviving the day is already difficult for anyone in Gaza but for those living with chronic illnesses, every day without medication can become a life-threatening emergency. Support now: https://t.co/LLwKJegeB1
The Sameer Project’s Chronic Disease Campaign continues to provide free medical care and essential medications for conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disorders, and other chronic illnesses. Each medical day costs roughly $500 in supplemental medications and doctors’ wages alone, on top of the thousands of dollars worth of medicine we provide from our warehouse stock.
During our free medical day at Palestine School on May 20, we treated 100 patients. Among them was Ms. Nahila, a woman carrying unimaginable grief. Her husband was martyred, her son was taken captive, and she now faces serious heart complications requiring medication to prevent fluid from building around her heart. She told us she feels completely alone.
Chronic disease does not stop, heart disease does not wait for a ceasefire, diabetes does not pause because a family has been displaced - and none of these ailments can wait for the occupation to finally allow enough medicine and treatment into the strip.
Help The Sameer Project continue reaching patients who have nowhere else to turn, we will continue to show up for them with your assistance. Donate to the Medical Campaign: https://t.co/LLwKJegeB1

This woman Rajiha who lives in Kanz Camp talks about her frustration with Eid and being unable to host people like she used to before. Palestinians in Gaza can barely secure food and water everyday, how are they meant to pay for celebrations, new clothes, feasts and gifts for kids?
The Sameer Project continues to provide food daily because it’s necessary. Community kitchens are dwindling and people are suffering. On May 24th, we gave out 515 chicken sandwiches to the residents of the Kanz Camp in Gaza City. Total cost with 11% commission was $1,541.

After 17 years of siege and around 3 years of genocide, going to Hajj (pilgrimage) for Palestinians in Gaza is a dream. This man is praying to God so that he can see the Kaaba and fulfill a pillar of Islam.
“All we have is God,” is commonly said in Gaza. People feel abandoned and forgotten by the world and the ummah. It is our duty as Muslim to make dua’a and take action to support Palestinians in Gaza.
Oh God, ease the hardship and provide ease for Palestinian in Gaza 🤲🏽
🌍💚 Orphans Kitchen – El Fasher
For the third consecutive week, with your continued support, Hope and Haven for Refugees Organization and Darfur Victims Advocacy Organization, supported by S&J Organization, continue providing daily meals for orphaned and vulnerable children in El Fasher.
The kitchen supports 70 orphaned and unaccompanied children between the ages of 4 and 15, providing two meals a day during these extremely difficult humanitarian conditions.
Thousands of children in El Fasher have lost one or both parents due to the ongoing war, displacement, hunger, and lack of access to healthcare and basic services. Many children are now living without stable care or regular access to food.
For these children, the kitchen is more than just food — it is a source of safety, care, dignity, and hope. For many of them, these meals are the only reliable meals they receive each day.
Your support helps us continue standing beside the most vulnerable children affected by the crisis in Sudan. 🤍

In Eid Al Adha, Muslims around the world sacrifice a sheep or goat to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim's (Abraham) willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah. The meat is divided into three equal parts to be consumed by the family, shared with relatives/friends, and donated to the poor. Palestinians in Gaza can’t do this ritual for the third year in a row!
However, frozen meat does enter Gaza and is priced at $16, which most people can’t afford. The Sameer Project aims to purchase meat for distribution in Eid and buy Eid clothes for kids before Eid. So far, the amount we made in the Eid Campaign will barely cover a thousand kilos of meat and no money for clothes yet.

Wheelchairs are a scarce and expensive necessity rather than a basic form of mobility. Supplies remain limited, and many of the units that are available are used, refurbished, and still cost close to $1,000 - far beyond the reach of all families already struggling to survive. Help now: https://t.co/LLwKJegeB1
At the same time, Gaza now holds one of the highest concentrations of amputees in the world, with people trying to move through overcrowded camps, dirt paths, and rubble with little to no mobility support. Daily life becomes a constant negotiation between pain, dependence, and risk, where even the simplest movement can feel impossible.
During The Sameer Project’s Medical Committee’s assessment of
Jinan Camp 3 in Khan Younis, they met Heba, a 22 years old who has a below-the-knee amputation of her left leg. She requires a wheelchair, as well as a night light for safe use when going to the bathroom during the night.
But Heba’s situation reflects a wider reality across the camps, where mobility is not just a medical need but a daily barrier to dignity and survival.
We’ll be honest…can we find and afford a wheelchair for Heba right now - we are not sure. We will look for one, and with your help hopefully we can buy it, but one wheelchair is a drop in the bucket compared to the need. And for that we need the world to demand rights, dignity, and freedom of movement for those who have been maimed by the occupation.

Fun day out for our camp kids! The Sameer Project team took our camp boys for a visit to the beach. The sea is one of the only places for people to relax in Gaza. Support here: https://t.co/dT6xhwzZFU
The kids also had some delicious watermelon 🍉 that were followed by some fun games and activities, and a refreshing swim in the sea. Trips like these are rare due to safety reasons and sporadic bombing but luckily this day trip went well and smooth.
Providing activities for our camp kids is important because they all come from families with one or more patients. Daily life is not easy for patients in Gaza so we try to provide relief and fun to the kids when we can.

Little Alaa who is a 4 year old girl living with cerebral palsy, receives physiotherapy and occupational therapy at The Sameer Project’s Refaat Alareer Camp where her family lives.
Please help: https://t.co/dT6xhwAxvs
This is her progress as of May 15, more than eight months after she first came into our care during the northern land invasion - small glimmers of hope. Every small movement, every moment of increased strength or coordination, reflects long hours of consistent rehabilitation work and the determination of her family and care team.
Our physiotherapist, Dr. Bashir, works daily in The Sameer Project’s Refaat Alareer Camp’s therapy clinic with patients facing a wide range of conditions, including mobility impairments, neurological injuries, and developmental disabilities. Some cases show gradual improvement in movement and independence, while others focus on maintaining function, reducing pain, and easing the burden on families through compassionate care and palliative support when needed.
At our camp, rehabilitation is not limited to one condition or outcome. It includes physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech support, and cognitive and learning interventions for children and adults alike.
Your support makes this possible. It allows us to continue providing care for patients who are recovering, those who are stabilizing, and those who need ongoing assistance to live with dignity for the rest of their lives.

The need in Gaza is unfathomable. HELP: https://t.co/1j2S3RoAgU Diapers and formula are one of the top needs for parents who can’t afford the items even if found in the market!
The Sameer Project does regular formula and diaper distributions in underserved camps. On May 3rd, we gave out 50 cans of formula and 146 small packs of diapers to Sahel Camp in Zawayde. Total cost with 11% commission was $705.
Parents feel helpless to provide formula regularly for their babies. Your support alleviates some of that stress and the relief on parents faces when getting formula and diapers is indescribable.

This is important. This is something you won’t see often in Gaza. The Sameer Project hosted a comprehensive on-site field medical examination day, HELP: https://t.co/LLwKJegMqz of both men and women, to assess their health conditions and ensure early identification of any concerns, while also reinforcing the importance of prevention, hygiene, and timely medical follow-up with education and preventative awareness.
Our medical team conducted an awareness and medical screening initiative in Ard Al-Saraya Camp in North Gaza on May 10. This educational and informative Medical Day focused on knowledge and prevention - it included an awareness talk and medical examinations centered on hygiene and blood-borne diseases, alongside focused sessions on infectious diseases and sexually transmitted diseases, all transferred through blood contact.
These sessions were conducted separately for men and women to ensure privacy, dignity, and a SAFE environment for all participants.
More than 30 individuals also underwent confidential testing. The community response was deeply positive, with strong engagement and meaningful participation throughout the day. Many attendees expressed appreciation for the opportunity to gain essential health knowledge in a respectful and accessible setting.
This initiative required A LOT of trust and A LOT of cooperation, and a medical team whose dedication made this initiative possible.
Again, this is important. And we need your help to continue. Donate to the Medical Camoaugn to support.

Bread is the simplest staple in Palestinian cooking. The bare minimum. But in Gaza today, even bread has become difficult to obtain. Flour is scarce. Firewood must be purchased at impossible prices for most families. And searching for baked bread can become life-threatening.https://t.co/6l9JFjXgdv
On May 3, The Sameer Project distributed across 323 bundles of bread at Al-Mashhad Camp, Al-Bahar Camp, the Chalets area, and Al-Ajrami Camp. In total, 3,230 loaves were baked and distributed to displaced families surviving under unimaginable conditions, like this father of 7, Murad who breathes a sigh of relief for just one bag to ensure his children will be fed.
On this day, 45 bundles reached Al-Mashhad Camp, 230 bundles were distributed in the Beach and Chalets camps, and 40 bundles reached Al-Ajrami Camp. The total cost was $789 after banking commission fees, covering all operations.

Faten survived a bombing that severely injured her leg about a year ago - shrapnel lodged into the bone. Metal plates still remain inside her body, but her wounds are still not healing properly. She cannot walk, and now depends on her sister for daily care. Because of her condition, her young son lives with his grandparents - the parents of her martyred husband - because Faten is no longer physically able to provide for him herself.
She wants her mobility back, her son back in her arms, and for life to feel meaningful again. Each injury is a life interrupted, a family separated, and immense pain.
