The curtain is being pulled back. And what lies behind it is exactly what we have been saying all along.

Chief Electoral Officer of West Bengal, Manoj Kumar Agarwal, acting on BJP's instructions, is attempting to influence the electoral process in Bengal. By established norms, the CEO has no authority to convene meetings with or issue directions to Central Observers.

And yet, CEO Manoj Kumar Agarwal, along with Subrata Gupta and Gyanesh Bharti, have been doing precisely this, pressuring Observers, compromising their independence, and bending the machinery of election administration to BJP's will.

Senior IAS officer Anurag Yadav, General Observer in Cooch Behar, had a sharp disagreement with the Chief Election Commissioner on exactly this issue. And then, Observer C. Paulrasu, a 2004 batch Himachal Pradesh cadre officer and former CEO of Himachal Pradesh, stated categorically in the Observers' group that the CEO has no authority to convene meetings with or direct the Observers.

When we exposed this, the Election Commission dismissed it as misinformation. So we are producing the evidence ourselves. The BJP-ECI nexus has been caught. Again. And this time, there is no explanation that will hold.
