Another early start as polling day draws nearer REFORM Strathallan Ward 26th September 2024 I introduce you to Ian Thomas, another local who is standing in his Ward of Strathallan, on 26th September another beautiful wee village in Perthshire 15 days and counting Strathallan is the strath of the Allan Water in Scotland. The strath stretches south west and south from Auchterarder in Perth & Kinross through Blackford, Dunblane, Bridge of Allan and on to Stirling. The main A9 road from central Scotland to the north of the country runs the length of Strathallan, as does the former Caledonian Railway line from Stirling to Perth and beyond. Strathallan School, a private boarding and day school, was originally located in Bridge of Allan but relocated away from the area to Forgandenny, Perth, in 1920 VOTE 1 for IAN THOMAS, REFORM Candidate : 15 days and counting REFORM UK is the fastest-growing political movement in Britain. Much of Ian’s professional work in land management has involved working in Strathallan. His family have benefited from good local schools, high street banks, post offices, manned police stations, local postmen and milkmen, all services that formed the bedrock of our cohesive communities. These wonderful elements of your lives are increasingly being degraded or closed down in the drive to centralise power and cut costs. This has been presented to you as inevitable and for your convenience Freedom: Local issues should be resolved by local Government. Green space protection for easy local access to the outdoors should be a priority. Food and Farming: Farming is not an optional extra for any society but our livestock farmers are increasingly working in a challenging environment. Ian will play his part in supporting local farming and a productive local rural economy. Housing: As your local Councillor Ian will push to ensure you receive your fair share of new build Council housing and put local people first for homes. Education: Ian will campaign to strengthen learning over indoctrination in Perth and Kinross Schools. Health and Recreation: The NHS is supported by a range of Council services. Ian will seek to protect these services from any cuts which disadvantage rural communities. Ensuring that Perth can continue to offer Curling facilities is more than just a recreational issue, it is part of your culture and shouldn’t be allowed to die. Services: Bins/GP services/Police/Hospital transport and patient advocacy. Ian will work hard with other Councillors regardless of party or Independent affliliation to make your views matter on these crucial local public services.
