@nesskain I do this too. Here’s a bonus: The paper allows you to use a metal nib w/o risking damage to the tablet’s surface. I’ve been using the same metal nib from Amazon for over 4 years now & it feels exactly like drawing with a ballpoint pen on paper. Easily an upgrade.
@henningsanden@CopyRebeldia Amazing how so many of these A.I bros claim to want to legitimize A.I while they resort to outright fraud to sell the public on all the amazing things it can supposedly do.
I recall something about the nature of trees & the resulting fruit they bear that seems apropos here.
@nesskain@clipstudiopaint I love CSP but their asset storefront is dogshit. It makes you think "microtransactions" and "gacha games" & really gives the software an unprofessional vibe, which is a shame because other than the occasional controversy it's probably the best drawing software going.
@DaveRapoza Although you didn't 𝑛𝑒𝑐𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑎𝑟𝑖𝑙𝑦 call out anybody in particular, I feel like I know 𝑒𝑥𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑙𝑦 who you had in mind with that title, but your secret's safe with me. I'll just say thanks for staying one of the few real ones over the years. Never change Mr. Rapoza.
@nitzukai Lazy UI designers ”modernize” designs simply by reducing visible elements (less to balance). Same way any hack interior designer can recommend safe colors that ”go with everything”.
Pros should be able to control complexity 𝑎𝑛𝑑 create appeal, not just dumb everything down.
@henningsanden It‘s nuts. I‘ve used Macs for close to 20 yrs & Apple‘s QA on the software side has never been this bad. Every time I update now I expect to spend a few hours fixing things or finding workarounds to features they’ve regressed or removed. Apple is running a sloppy shop these days.
@DaveRapoza Corporations:
”Businesses serve markets and markets reflect what people want. We serve your preferences.”
Corporations when markets reject something they’ve invested heavily in:
”You need to change your preferences! Here’s some sentimental bullshit about humanity or something“
@ManuelDeJorge You can repurpose an older PC into a dedicated streaming machine. OBS is lightweight enough for older hardware, so a dual PC streaming/recording setup is an economical option if you don't want to tax resources on your main PC (provided you have an extra PC collecting dust).
@henningsanden This is true for 2D artists/designers too. Many ppl think they‘ve leveled-up just by watching a tutorial or buying the next online course. These are great resources but you need to be testing your 𝑜𝑤𝑛 skills, don’t assume you’ve gained somebody else’s by watching them work.
We are pleased to present newly created deep muscles of the hip. Revealed through internal and external rotation, these layers are rarely seen, yet constantly at work.
How many of the visible muscles can you identify?

I think we’ll see more of this sort of thing. Good, there’s no downside to expecting that artists draw & I’ve never met a skilled artist who couldn’t demo to some degree. You can identify amateurs vs pros real fast just by watching them sketch If you know what to look for.
A Japanese game studio is making applicants draw in front of them during interviews to prove they don't use generative AI
The Chief Graphic Designer at the undisclosed company said, “It is humans who can create compelling characters and graphics from scratch”
@thumbsupdotme@Affinity 100%. I'd run Linux exclusively if I didn't need the commercial software that keeps me on MacOS.
These companies keep baking Ai into the core of the OS and we're headed toward 24/7 surveillance (via local Ai spyware) w/ no option to disable. Linux is looking better each day.
@Affinity I'm glad 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 is the announcement and not a sub-only plan, but I worry about a loss leader model b/c there are many examples of this failing (e.g Sketchbook Pro).
Affinity will now be required to convert enough ppl over to paid Canva services to justify continued dev costs.
Bony landmarks define the surface forms of the knee – where bones, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fat pads meet. They're useful for anyone learning anatomy for art. #anatomy#3dmodeling#characterdesign
Today, we’re excited to share our latest animation — the hamstrings and their function in movement.
A huge thank you to Dr. Bertram Zarins and our community for your continuous support to help make animations like these happen.

@CornHead0079@kato_anatomy The clavicular portion of the muscle (The shorter, wider part) blends into the sternal part of the muscle, which then inserts at the Mastoid process of the Temporal bone & the Superior Nuchal Line of the Occipital bone. The other muscle you mention sounds like the Plytasma.
@Affinity Just the usual reminder to never believe these companies when they pretend these acquisitions will be a good thing for the existing users. They’re dumping the user forums in anticipation of the fallout they know is coming as a result of whatever horseshit they’re about to spin.
