I’m building Blue Turtle Dev while working full-time and raising a growing family.
The goal: learn Unity, C#, 3D, pixel art, game design, and release my first indie game on https://t.co/5VYf8ehQBs.
Small steps. Real progress. First release coming.
Today is Monday, and I want to share an important milestone in my game development journey.
Today I finally caught up with all of my main classes and courses.
For me, this is a huge step. It means I am no longer just collecting courses or planning what to learn — I am actually moving forward, building the foundation, and getting closer to making my first game.
Very excited to continue this journey.
Step by step.

I chose the hard way, and honestly, I would not recommend it to everyone.
But my curiosity is bigger than me, so I decided to try Maya.
This is my first model, and now I can appreciate why some artists still use it. Maya has fewer “built-in magic buttons” than Blender, but that is also what makes it interesting. It forces me to think more about the process, the tools, and the structure of the model.
Still learning, still slow, but I can already see the charm.

Part of the learning process is trying different things and experimenting.
Today I’m redrawing my Blue Turtle logo in pixel art while practicing with different sprite sizes (8x8, 16x16, and 32x32). It’s a great exercise for understanding shape language, readability, and how much detail you can communicate with a limited number of pixels.
Every small project teaches something new. 🐢🎮

If I could choose my dream job, it would be game development.
I love learning how to build virtual worlds, and I can’t wait to share this journey with you.
This lantern is my first original model in Blender. It’s not perfect, but it’s one more step forward. 🎮🐢

First 3D model created completely on my own in Blender.
Until now, I was mostly following tutorials and repeating steps. Today I challenged myself to build something from reference without a step-by-step guide.
It’s just a simple pot, but it feels like a milestone.
Not chasing perfection. Chasing progress.
One more step on my journey to becoming an indie game developer.
Opened Blender today instead of Unity and made my first simple scene.
It was built with very basic operations, but I’m honestly proud of the result.
Not perfect, but it feels good to create something instead of only planning.
Slow progress is still progress 🐢
Good morning, everyone! ☀️
There is no perfect moment to start a new journey in life.
Whether you want to become healthier, learn a new skill, become a game developer, start a business, or even pursue multiple goals at once (like I am), the best time to start is now.
You don’t need to have everything figured out. You don’t need the perfect plan. You just need to take the first step and keep moving forward.
Push yourself beyond what you think you’re capable of. Progress may be slow, but every small step brings you closer to where you want to be.
Today is a great day to begin.
Let’s get after it.
Today I officially started my C# journey in Unity and finished learning variables and basic data types.
For experienced developers this is probably very simple stuff — but for me this is the beginning of a completely new path, and honestly I’m excited about it.
🐢 Small progress is still progress. 🐢
Today:
✅ C# Variables
✅ Basic data types
Next:
➡️ If / Else statements
➡️ Conditions & logic
➡️ Building small systems step by step
@KenneyNL Hi Kenney, I’m new to game development, but your assets are truly awesome. Thank you so much for creating such amazing work and making it available for aspiring game developers like me.
