I wish I wrote this. JD has the gift of discernment and is blessed with intelligence and the ability to articulate his thoughts with clarity I’ve lost over the years. Thank God he’s on X as a voice of reason among the chaos.
Pro-Tip: When they spend inordinate amounts of airtime, advertising, money, and coordinated campaigning in social media targeting a small, select group of influencers - while simultaneously telling us how insignificant and non-influential, they are - it’s not organic outrage. It’s Phase 1.
When they successfully label someone “Satanic” or “evil” or “Hitler” or “Nazi” or “Jew Hater,” they are not going after THEM. Not really. They are going after YOU.
Phase 2 of the operation is - by the virtue of being “on the same side” of the aisle (nationalism, war, populism, Israel, whatever) - they will decree the successfully demonized influencer “your leader” and condemn YOU with them.
Their goal isn’t to make someone they hate lose their following or influence. Their goal is to declare YOU to be their follower, and condemn you right along beside them unless you’re will to NOT ONLY denounce that person and earn your immunity, but also denounce ALL THEIR VIEWS or be banished to hell with them, made anathema, and castigated from polite society.
Once they’re in Phase 2, the ONLY way out is to reject and repent of all the views you share in common with them.
“Do you believe Israel is a genocidal war cult?” Ah-ha! Just like Candace Owens!
“Do you believe that war is bad unless it’s fought out of necessity, only once all alternatives are exhausted, with clear and realistic objectives?” Ah-ha! just like Tucker Carlson.
“Do you believe that there’s a systemic culture of violence in the Black Community?” Ah-ha! Just like Nick Fuentes!
The demonization is so thorough, the only way out is the complete disavowal of any of your shared beliefs that may be held in common.
Can’t win an argument? No problem,
1. Pick a few influencers. Spend every ounce of energy and available resources, you’d otherwise spend on making a point, to brand them as devils. Instead of proving them wrong, prove them bad.
2. Demand that anyone who wants to avoid the mass condemnation ritual as fellow devils, renounce ALL our shared views to prove we’re not “on their side.”
Don’t fall for it. Don’t take part.
Being angry at Fauci or being angry at Israel isn’t productive anymore. The anger is justified, but without real accountability it’s just wasted energy—unless it’s directed effectively into a pursuit for positive change.
Trump won in 2024 because most Americans understood that wars in the Middle East are bad for the U.S. & that COVID was a crime against humanity. He built a historic coalition that promised, with conviction, that voting for Trump meant we’d get accountability, no more foolish wars, & an administration that would actually put America first.
Instead, we have a new war in the Middle East and Trump announcing he’ll honor Fauci’s pardon.
This is all infuriating, but don’t let it demoralize you—because it’s also clarifying.
We can declassify documents, stage hearings, and post talking points on the internet all day. But none of it matters when we have a justice system that refuses to deliver genuine, bipartisan accountability, impartial to political influence from any direction.
Right now, Trump has the ultimate power to pursue that accountability, and he’s choosing not to. That tells you everything you need to know.
We know who will hide behind performative outrage about Fauci, Iran, or the Deep State while taking no real action in efforts to shield their political careers—and we know who will actually stand up, fight, & tell the truth, no matter how uncomfortable the consequences may be.
The problem isn’t the War Machine, foreign interests trying to push us into war, or the Deep State & their pathetic apparatchiks like Fauci seeking to control us.
The problem is putting our faith in leaders, again and again, who lack the courage to fight them.
Andrew
A spokesman who cannot control himself cannot control a crisis.
A spokesman’s first duty is not to win arguments. It is to contain a crisis, protect the institution and remain disciplined under pressure. Those are the qualities that distinguish a skilled professional from an incompetent one.
Your response here descends into your habitual tactics of sarcasm, ridicule and personal attack. You appear threatened, out of control and singularly focused on discrediting Candace—your manner is strikingly adolescent for the official spokesman of a national conservative political organization
Why are you incapable of recognizing what this communicates about both you and TPUSA: defensiveness, evasion and the appearance that there is something to hide—the opposite of what a competent spokesman should be trying to accomplish, no?
WHY CANDACE’S JOB IS FUNDAMENTALLY DIFFERENT FROM YOURS
Candace is not an outsider intruding into matters that do not concern her. She helped build TPUSA alongside Charlie, worked with him, loved him as a friend and colleague, and is now trying to discover who murdered him. Her involvement is therefore both intensely personal and entirely professional.
She is an independent journalist, not TPUSA’s official spokesman. She is entitled to say whatever she believes must be said, ask whatever questions must be asked, challenge whoever must be challenged and pursue every lawful avenue that may produce answers. She does not owe politeness, deference or emotional restraint to people who have repeatedly failed to provide clear and satisfactory answers.
You do not get to stonewall her and then complain about her tone. You do not get to evade serious questions and then condemn the urgency with which she demands answers. And you certainly do not get to portray her determination to discover who murdered her friend as the problem. Surely you can see how appalling that looks.
Whether you disagree with everything Candace is doing is completely irrelevant. You are TPUSA’s official spokesman. If you expect to retain the public’s confidence, you are required to respond to an entirely justified independent investigation with professionalism and transparency.
The problem is not that Candace refuses to stop asking questions. The problem is that the very people who should be helping her find the truth appear far more committed to shutting her down, closing the matter and moving on.
I remain genuinely astonished that neither you nor Blake (COONspiracy) has been replaced. But in which case, you would both benefit from studying the great press secretaries and institutional spokesmen of the past. They understood that their role was never to become part of the story. Their role was to protect the institution they represented.
Andrew, you were entrusted with helping TPUSA navigate the greatest crisis in its history. Instead, through your own conduct, you became part of that crisis.
Perhaps you were inadequately trained for this position, or perhaps you are simply incapable of applying that training under pressure. Either way, the conclusion is the same: you have failed, publicly and persistently, at the most fundamental duties of your position.
Consider this carefully: your conduct over the past ten months is now an indelible part of your professional record. Any serious organization considering you for a future communications, public-affairs or strategic position will inevitably ask whether this is how you perform when the stakes are highest, scrutiny is most intense and disciplined self-control matters most.
And if it ever turned out that you were acting in some intelligence capacity, the same record would raise an obvious question: how could anyone trust an operative who repeatedly loses control of the message, exposes his own weaknesses and intensifies the very crisis he is supposed to manage?

@BeartoothBaron@MattWalshBlog Sorry you’ve encountered things like this. It’s standard protocol to assess for supports and encourage connection with others. If a therapist is not advocating for this, they are missing the obvious at best, negligent/unethical at worst.
@NJSussexGuy@MattWalshBlog The MFT field is built on the premise of restoring relationships and enriching families. Those practice outside of this scope are not practicing MFT.
@EddieRing@MattWalshBlog Sorry you had a bad experience if referring to yourself. If not, I’ll just say there are competent and brilliant couples therapists out there - like any field, some are great others not so much.
