bro its even worse than how it sounds. the actual court documents are insane. two dudes Calvin Kemp and Chevez Robillard set up a fake company called Vision Investment Group that ran something called "Hand of Jefe Entertainment." Kemp would call insurance companies saying he was the CEO of a record label getting policies for his artists. they stole 3 peoples identitys and took out $4.3 MILLION in accidental death policies across 8 different insurance companies. Robillard was the beneficary on every single one. heres the part that made my stomach turn.. Kemp literally called eFinancial and asked the rep "does this policy cover murder." like he just said that on a recorded line. he also called Fidelity Life and asked if it coverd accidental drug overdoses. when the rep said no but it covers shootings he was like cool. then one of the victims, a 38 year old named Duquares Smith, gets shot 3 times and killed in December 2022. Robillard submitted the insurance claims BEFORE the man was even dead. and when the insurance companies refused to pay, this dude Robillard actually filed LAWSUITS against them trying to collect. Smiths mom said her son had mentioned these guys were "helping him with housing" before he got killed. they just got convicted last week. neither one has been charged with the actual murder tho. the case is still cold
