Why can't we find any more water operators anymore? It all comes down to the price we are willing to pay vs the amount people are willing to work for.

Unless we can figure out how to get average water worker wages to from $54,890 to $82,340 we are going to always have a labor shortage in the water space.

We can either just charge more for water...OR we can use technology, automation, to enable 1 worker to do the job of 2. Then use 50% of that savings to pay the workers more because of higher technical talent.

We are already seeing this in many water authorities and districts...not as much in City departments.
