• distressing age/gender/race (!) makeup
• incoherent narrative
• Tom Hanks speaking future pidgin
• seriously, the makeup is nightmare fuel

In San Jose for the day, I at least got to pay my respects to this palace. Lucky to have seen “Lawrence of Arabia” 70mm restoration here in late ‘80s, and “Phantom Menace” in late ‘90s. Building isn’t long for this world, and we’ll never see its like again.

Inspired by upcoming TV series, I’ve been rereading #Foundation for first time since I was a kid, and it's like a parody of mid-century sci-fi. Significant portion of narrative is men (and it’s *all* men), sitting around smoking cigars, talking about how great nuclear power is.
