Today at Urugwiro Village, President Kagame met with a delegation from the Republic of Djibouti led by Mahmoudi Ali Youssouf, Minister of Foreign Affairs, who brought a message from President Ismail Omar Guelleh. They discussed the security situation in the Horn of Africa as well as the advancement of bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest with a focus on trade. The meeting followed the 1st Joint Ministerial Commission meeting between Djibouti and Rwanda that took place earlier today.

This year’s theme is, “Zero Malaria Starts with Me, Time to innovate, focus and implement, and notably recognize the critical importance of reaching marginalized populations with the tools and strategies that are available today in Malaria prevention and control.

President Kagame and H.E. Col. Mamadi Doumbouya also witnessed the inauguration of a highway interchange connecting Kagbélen to Conakry that is now named after President Kagame. The completed infrastructure will ease movement between major industrial cities and Conakry as well as with neighboring countries.
