Immigrant workers stood with @OFLabour against Bill 33 yesterday while raising the alarm on @FordNation’s sudden suspension of 2600+ skilled trade applications in the ON Immigrant Nominee Program. Thousands are in the lurch without fair processing of their PR applications. #Shame
BREAKING: Feds announce policy to remove additional points from LMIA job offers, thus reducing LMIA-based exploitation. This was one of the demands of former international students who are now on their 111th day of the Brampton encampment protest, and marks a victory in our struggle for a fair pathway to PR.
As we wait for details on the policy to be released, the encampment continues. 🧵
We’ve gained support from @socialist_ca organizations for our protest! They’ve shared the news in their publication to spread awareness about how immigrants are being used as scapegoats. Let’s keep the momentum going and stand strong together! #ImmigrantRights#FightForJustice

Guru Randhawa showed up in support of international students at 295 Queen St. E., calling for fair PR policies. Let’s unite behind this important cause and demand change. #SupportTheStudents

The demands:
👉 Extend Post-Graduate Work Permits expiring in 2024-25
👉 5-year PGWP for all international students
👉 Stop LMIA-based exploitation
👉 Fair pathway to PR
The students have already braved a thunderstorm overnight and are prepared to keep the struggle going until they win. Join them 295 Queen St E in Brampton to support. #GoodEnough2Work #GoodEnough2Stay
@EmigrationC @bikramkullewal@MarcMillerVM Its definitely a betrayal. They are sold these short-term programs with bait and switch tactics. Our govt. has turned the education industry into a profit-hungry beast that preys on students. These programs depend on fresh faces to come in every year to squeeze their pockets dry.
@MarcMillerVM It's disgusting that our govt. takes part in such bait and switch tactics, bringing in foreign labourers under false promises. These were your essential workers during covid! They kept the country running! Now you throw them away to rinse & repeat with a new batch? Disgusting!
BREAKING: An international student collapsed yesterday while waiting 6 hours for a collective meeting with the Dean alongside other @AlgomaU international students demanding fair reassessment, transparency and accountability since Jan 5.

Chants of “blowing up pipelines is a war crime” and “No NATO, no war!” in the streets of Washington DC right now
Incredible energy as thousands gather across political boundaries to #RageAgainstWar in the heart of the empire
Every healthy impulse gets twisted by our rulers. The push toward equality for women got twisted into doubling the workforce and slashing worker pay. The push for racial equality and LGBT rights gets twisted into having to vote for abusive imperialist political parties.
@LooseyJackie@aroguegardener@jackthetastic1 @stuckinspincycl Sounds like you need to pick yourself up by the bootstraps harder. If you're not wealthy, it's your fault... not that minimum wage hasn't increased according to inflation in a fuckload of time. /S
