Father of 2, husband, #RichmondBC City Councillor, #bced science teacher, #GreenParty politics & a #Lorax of sorts, who shook arms with a Giant Pacific Octopus
@jan_ewilliams@Gillanders_L@KashHeed@ChakAuRichmond@CarolDayRmd Reasons: already complaints from residents above, we have not expanded liquor service hours to 2am when multi floors of residents are above, the business has only been here for a year, not much data to go on. Im not opposed to the business being there or open until 2am.
@BobRansford Hey @BobRansford yes we support local agriculture. We all have work to do, with every land use issue. I ate all my strawberries with my kids, that we bought from the 1st athiana acres market. I attended the annual gathering of the Garden City Conservation Society at the KPU farm
@EvanDunfee Nice work! You stopped my other 10 shots with ease. I tried to keep them away from your fast moving feet, hence the top corners. See you next season.
@CoachDhillon @Richmond_BC Hey I've just heard from Parks staff. A new hoop system and sport surfacing is coming. Information signage will be up soon. The upgrade should be finished in a month or so.
Great points made by Councillor Wolfe!
Increasing inequalities is turning more people to increasingly toxic drugs
While we should choose to avoid such drugs, many will and we should try our best to keep these members of our community alive
@DrewRickard2@erjun_ma@StevestonSafeTA looking forward to the scheduled presentation (item 19) on the Steveston bus loop at this coming Monday's #Richmondbc City Council meeting. If you have any maps or document, please send in advance.
@vancity_james @Richmond_BC @AndyHobbs976 @Gillanders_L@ChakAuRichmond https://t.co/ECrgC7BAAN see item 14. Endorsed unanimously, snow removal program. Ive walked with a 4 year old, navigating snowy sidewalks. Not with ease, but it is winter in Canada.
I know what I'll be defending - public privacy, $ impacts, etc. vs the only 4K ultra hi-def camera police-state system on Canadian roads, capturing all faces & plates.
Have your say as City Council discuss & vote this Monday Jan.15 7pm #RichmondBC

@aurashakes@NB_Slater@j_mcelroy I've been pleading with our mayor to appoint me to the Mayor's Council, but for reasons he won't. The most he has given me is vice chair of Public Works and Transportation committee. I'm the youngest (41) and probably the most active transit user and advocate for better services.
@j_mcelroy Glad you used my quote, but for context I was 1/3 who voted FOR the BRT. In 5yrs on council I've had no ability to vote on translink priorities for #richmondbc residents. Our mayor does, as member of Mayors Council and Translinks Board. Let's talk about restoring cut services 1st
@erjun_ma Myself and 2 others on Council did vote in favour of BRT and our staff did put forward the recommendation for us to support. Perhaps translink should work with the community to determine the route rather then give one single option to consider
@EvanDunfee It's not a question of Bridgeport or Cambie, but both need to have improvements for transit and multi-mode transportation. The fastest way to connect Richmond city centre and metrotown is... Canada Line, R bus (or future light rail) on 41st or 49th and then the Expoline.
@CraigCameronWV@EvanDunfee Richmond's only rep on the Mayor's Counci, and the Translink Board is... Mayor Brodie.
I'm all for rapid buses and BRT but I'd like to have some input on priority routes for it, based on what hear from citizens and what I've experienced
@squaredskylines@Gillanders_L@CarolDayRmd@ChakAuRichmond@billmcnulty2022 @AndyHobbs976 @KaShHe I voted in support of the transit recommendations. Mayor assumed wrong. I corrected it after the vote. Check the mtg minutes. I was rushed in providing my comments, so I shared my critical thoughts for even more transit improvements. I'm lifelong east richmond, multi-transporter
@EvanDunfee Agreed. But I Councillor Wolfe also voted to endorse. It will be reflected in the meeting minutes. Mayor assumed wrong when he spoke. The trankslink/City recommendations were mostly great. Council doesn't get to approve the priority list of transportation projects or bus services
@j_mcelroy Well beyond the poor proportions of the bars, this also shows that delegates voted down calling on the BC gov to setup a Wellbeing of Future Generations Act. #presentfailure
