To escape the matrix, you must master the 3 forms of leverage that rule the world:

1. Capital (Money)
This is making your money work while you sleep. Every dollar you save and invest is a digital soldier working for you. It is the hardest leverage to acquire initially, but it has the highest compounding effect.

2. Labor (People)
Having a team work for your vision. This is the oldest form of leverage used by traditional emperors and CEOs. However, in modern times, managing people is complex, expensive, and filled with bureaucratic headaches.

3. Code and Content (The Digital Leverage)
This is the ultimate weapon. You write a line of code, build an AI automation, or create an audience ONCE, and it works for you 24/7 globally with zero marginal cost of replication. A single tweet can reach 10 million people while you are asleep. A small SaaS product can serve 5,000 clients without you picking up the phone.

The internet completely democratized leverage. You no longer need permission from a bank or a boss to start. You don't need a million dollars; you need a system.

You also had to understand how existing systems worked, figure out their internal logic, reproduce their behavior, and spend weeks debugging everything that broke along the way.

That complexity was a competitive advantage.

A company could spend years building a product, and competitors would have to invest enormous resources just to catch up.

Now look at what's happening with AI agents.

Claude Code can then use that specification to help implement the functionality independently.

The important part isn't that AI can write code.

The next generation of software companies might not win by building more.

They might win by understanding what already exists, identifying what can be improved, and rebuilding only what matters.

That's a much bigger shift than AI simply writing code faster.
