@dawnnamarie123@RchardsonBen@elsathora My husband‘s a university lecturer and it was odd knowing NONE of the freshmen would be local recent graduates. One was a local who’d taken a gap year. All the graduates from other states had it good this year, getting into the schools of their choice with so little competition.
@dawnnamarie123@RchardsonBen@elsathora Kindergarten here is 3 years and doesn’t count. Yeah, they added the year to the end, but it was planned for the entirety of those kids‘ education, so it wasn’t like they just suddenly made up some new classes.
My kids‘ (grades 10 & 7)curriculum was always aimed at 13 years.
@dawnnamarie123@RchardsonBen@elsathora Yeah, unfortunately where I live 5th graders are in the same building as 13th graders (schools switched from 12 years to 13 last year in 2 German states, which was weird, as no graduating seniors) so some kids are 10 and some are 20…
@BladeoftheS@barblet30 It didn’t happen. FIFA said no. He had to get entry into the States to be able to referee in Canada, too, they said, because of a training camp requirement. 😞
@dawnnamarie123@RchardsonBen@elsathora They do here in Germany. Usually 2-3 friends walk or take public transport together. But most neighborhoods have small primary schools for 6-10-year-olds. 1st-4th grades are very different from 5th grade and up.
Our president tried to steal an election. Unlawfully. Lives were lost, cops were beaten. The president is deeply anti American in many respects. And people who know better pretend that opposition to him is derangement, rather than courage, or more importantly, truth.
@iseeuliars@MelanieWeckert My father-in-law started showing the first signs of dementia while he had a „mild“ Covid infection and died just a few months later after refusing to eat or drink. (He had a paper saying they couldn’t force him.) It happened so fast.
@annamaria1word I’m a US citizen living in Germany. My 75-y.o. neighbor thought I was joking when I told her about this.
I told her if I were a time traveler trying to tell folks 10 years ago what was coming they’d think I was crazy and lock me up.
@DougWahl1 Good. If they can come up with a quick biodegradable one and limit themselves to only using parts that biodegrade safely (string etc) I could change my mind.
