Over two years ago I joined the Wormhole Foundation. Now I'm stepping back into the market.
What I'm looking for: Head of Communications, Head of Growth, or senior GTM leadership. Crypto or adjacent technology. A team building something technically serious, where the gap between what the product is and how it's understood is a problem worth solving full time. Open to a Head of Community role for the right team, if the scope matches what I've actually been doing.
A bit of context.
I've spent the last four years going all in on crypto. Osmosis, then Evmos, then Wormhole. I've never been someone who does things halfway. Whatever I commit to gets all of me.
@wormhole was the biggest chapter. Building alongside @danreecer_ and @robinson , two of the sharpest operators I know. Together we shipped a TGE that became one of the most successful of 2024, grew the community from 75K to over 1M, built teams from scratch, ran crisis comms through tough times, and scaled an international Fellowship across seven countries. I'm still proud of what we shipped.
Early on, @osmosis, where I first got to work with @RoboMcGobo, who set the bar early for what good looks like in this space.
I came into comms from engineering, and I never stopped thinking like an engineer. Community isn't a vibe to me, it's a system. I spend my time finding where funnels actually break, building engagement that doesn't need a human holding it up, and turning cross-chain tech into language engineers and investors both believe.
Mostly I just want to make something that matters, with people worth doing it with.
If that sounds like you, or someone you know, let's talk.
DMs open.
Shit system.
I got mega slashed at airdrop for speaking my mind but idgaf, on to the next.
Not playing the game of "create an echo chamber of only positive comments about our partner projects"
Kaito is overdue for another -50%
I’m tired.
Everything I love about software: craft, care, community is being gutted.
AI slop PRs for airdrops. Fake activity to juice metrics for retro funding. DAO politics and governance favors. OSS reduced to a game of farming points and politics.
Crypto didn’t liberate anything. It just strapped a token to every soul and called it progress.
I vented to a friend. They said: "That’s not crypto. That’s money. Money corrupts everything it touches."
And yeah maybe that's the problem.
As time passes the case of a crypto critique becomes clearer and clearer. We need more criticism and self-reflection.
The direction is wrong.
Here’s the thing about candidate experience:
Candidates are expected to show interest, prepare, and bring their A-game to the interview process.
But companies need to do the same.
Lack of communication = lost interest and trust.
A slow interview process, no follow-ups, leaving candidates in the dark, that doesn’t feel exclusive, it feels like you don’t care.
Too many web3 startups underestimate this. Hiring often ends up on someone from the team, usually a COO, or “wears many hats” kind of person, where recruitment is just one of their many tasks.
Which basically means: no clear ownership and low priority compared to other tasks.
Great people won’t stick around wondering if you’re interested, especially if after the following calls, where they did well, they don’t hear from you for days.
Silence sends a message too, even if you are potentially interested in them
In the end, when offers from two companies are similar, and both check the boxes in terms of expectations and challenges, they’ll pick the one where they feel more wanted.
