@SF_England A quick look on their website confirms this. For her, the payment in April is pointless. What can she do? Other than get into huge amounts of debt, or quit her studies? Because there's no way she (or us) can afford to find over £2,300 in January.

@SF_England Not true. University of Westminster takes two payments not three. One in September and one in January of twice her maintenance payment. Her maintenance loan was enough to cover rent and small amount of living costs. Paid this way it covers neither of those.
