Jarren Duran is upset that Contreras didn't risk getting thrown out for the extremely slim (virtually impossible) chance that this play would be a sac fly and Duran's AVG would be .196 instead of .195
Lost in the debate over whether the Tigers should be selling or buying before the trade deadline is this simple point: if you don't want to pay to keep the game's best pitcher, who's been playing for you for years with a good reputation, then you shouldn't own a baseball team.
.@AJArabic has terminated 24 Gaza journalists’ contracts. One is its survivor of northern Gaza reporters, Mohammed Shahin, who stayed all the genocide in the north and risked his life to continue reporting with Anas Al-Sharif and others.
@AJEnglish has also terminated the entire Gaza team’s contracts who were evacuated for their and their families’ own safety.
Call on Al-Jazeera to restore their contracts now and respect its obligations towards Gaza reporters. This is unacceptable and inhumane.
bali expat culture sounds like it can be on another level of unearned privilege; they think they’re living in a nineteenth century treaty port for lifestyle influencers or something
I’ll soon be sponsoring a bill to withhold federal money from municipalities and police departments that deploy Flock (and other style) cameras to surveil law abiding citizens.
BREAKING: Donald Trump has reportedly backed away from plans to escalate the war with Iran after Pentagon officials warned U.S. forces were running low on Patriot interceptors and other air defense missiles in the Middle East, according to The New York Times.
The U.S. has fired more than 1,200 Patriot interceptors, each costing over $4 million. The NYT reports Gen. Dan Caine warned that renewed large-scale strikes could nearly exhaust CENTCOM's interceptor stockpile. A senior U.S. official also said the campaign had "the opposite effect," keeping Iran united against an external threat.
BREAKING: China directly rejects Trump's latest Truth Social claim that Xi told him China would not sell weapons to Iran under any circumstances, saying "as a comprehensive strategic partner, China strongly supports Iran in safeguarding its sovereignty, security, and national dignity."
the truth is that the voting populace of the country is the most politically backward, because the USA itself is politically backward. the only energy of forward progression is found in the non-voting masses. working in electoral politics taught me this quickly!
Nicaraguan co-president Daniel Ortega’s remarks at July 19th celebrations in Managua have been purposely taken out of context and have been mistranslated and the international media is running wild.
“They will never see another election where they can attempt to seize power by cheating their way into government.”
In his address, Daniel warned that the country’s institutions will take measures to prevent political parties—which have been involved in recent violent acts aimed at inciting sedition, with political and financial backing from the United States—from undermining national peace.
His comments weren’t directed at the Nicaraguan people nor in reference to their constitutional right to vote. He was referring to those who have promoted sanctions, foreign interference and acts that undermine the sovereignty and peace of Nicaragua.
Ortega didn't say this. He said that Nicaragua won't allow US-financed candidates and election meddling. That's very different than claiming Nicaragua "Will No Longer Hold Elections." @democracynow should retract this.
