@ericweinstein some of it may be due in part to not having the power to actually do anything about the problems, so best to just keep up the illusion everything is okay or they have power they don't have to maintain the current order, as long as it doesn't blow up on their watch.π€·ββοΈ
@KonstantinKisin hmm seems now ye have become a Putin apologist, and most folks haven't read our article. My view was the deal wasn't the best but the USA can't give him the security guarantees he wants, which is pretty much Russia's casus belli. But it would have given them skin in the game.
@NarcisW63452@MaajidNawaz@TuckerCarlson my understanding is that due to martial law he stays on, its only that its leaves a potential means of de-legitimizing any agreement that is signed. cause lawyers just love that type of shenanigans
@MaajidNawaz I'm so cynical these days that i expect this is a "dead cat" to keep everyone arguing...i wonder what's happening tomorrow that could be relevant π€·ββοΈ

@Miss_Snuffy I'm gonna go out on a limb here, but i think the whole multicultural thing is treated by some as almost a religious tenant of their world view, and to even question it is questioning their "goodness"
@ericweinstein I know there isn't an option for it, but late Gen X/early millennials. Old enough to know the world that was, young enough to know the world that is
@briankeating Probably a fair few apply to the fermi paradox, but my current favorite is that civilizations could end up getting something like the internet and end up plugging themselves in instead of exploring outward...the proverbial disappearing up their own rear.
