ALERT: 3 firefighters injured after a man's house with hundreds of pounds of fireworks explodes in Washington.

Firefighters on Whidbey Island were called to a house fire, and shortly after arriving, the home exploded.

Crews were standing about 20 feet from the house when, according to officials, hundreds of pounds of fireworks exploded.

Two deputy chiefs and one firefighter were injured, with 2 being released and 1 firefighter having to undergo hand surgery.

Central Whidbey Fire and Rescue Chief Jerry Helm said, "We were extremely lucky. You change the timetable on this by a second or two either way, and the outcome would be very different…. Once the explosion happened and we heard and saw what was going on, fireworks were shooting across the road and hitting a couple of rigs. It was pretty obvious once the explosion happened what it was.”

Officials say the man was stashing the fireworks at his house for an upcoming private event and smoked near them, which caused them to ignite.

🇨🇭 Switzerland confirms the U.S. and Iran will meet tomorrow at the mountaintop resort of Buergenstock for initial talks on implementing the agreement.

Mediators Pakistan and Qatar will be there too, along with other involved countries.

The Swiss gave no further detail on the schedule.

Iran said no in-person signing of the MOU would happen in Switzerland, following Trump and Pezeshkian putting their names to it.
