Yesterday is the past, today is the present; tomorrow is the future. Let yesterday go, give all u have to today; tomorrow will benefit from the focus u displayed today. You deserve to be blessed. #COACHPRIME
Success requires effort, discipline, and the willingness to keep showing up.
Avoiding hard work only delays growth.
Every meaningful achievement demands action.
What effort are you willing to give today?
Too simple!
Make them EXPECTATIONS and not RULES.
I think it was Lou Holtz that had something similar that I adapted for my teams.
1. Be on time (but it was understood if you are 5 minutes early - you’re late)
2. Do what’s right (if you can’t do it in front of your parents or religious leader - don’t do it)
3. Treat others as you want to be treated - be a good person to everyone
So when a player had a lapse in judgement the coach can always refer back to one of these 3 expectations and teach a life lesson.
Heck, do these 3 for life and you are doing pretty good.
You don't become a champion by showing up when it's easy.
You become a champion by showing up when it's hard, when no one notices, and when there are zero guarantees of success.
Effort doesn't need a crowd, just your commitment to being better than you were yesterday.
