The bicycle spiral bridge or ‘fietsspiraal’ exists 4 years today.
More than 4 million cyclists have since passed on the bridge!
For many users, it is the daily quick & playful connection to the city.
We couldn't miss it anymore!

If you take the $3 shuttle bus to the airport in Boston, they give you a voucher to skip to the front of the security line. We should have similar perks to get people to take transit to SFO (though our security lines are generally very fast). @wafoli

It's wild that the accepted tools for "Safe Routes to School" mainly says "Install signs" to slow traffic.

Narrowing streets and other traffic calming treatments need to be integral to areas around Schools.

See Paris as a Good Example - they closed streets to cars.

One possible response to this would be to eliminate the 90% Federal funding for highways/interchanges, which has been in existence since the 60s.

On history lane (10 yrs ago), you'd take your kid in standard bike lanes (thru Golden Gate Park) or ride on sharrows.

That was Caltrans' standard for designing for bicycles. I wish more has changed! 🙄
