@KentuckyCrops @PetersonFarmsKY Ha! It’s always easy to talk about yourself 😁. Happy to help!

Enjoyed the opportunity to speak to this class yesterday. Shared how the @PetersonFarmsKY team uses technology and conservation practices to provide the bourbon industry with high quality grains in a sustainable manner for both the environment and our family farm business.

Yesterday was the final Grains for Bourbon class before the final exam this week. We have a great group of apprentices at the distilleries in the ⁦@beam_uky⁩ ⁦program. (We did not get everyone in the photo.) @JimBeam⁩ ⁦@MakersMark⁩ ⁦@beamsuntory⁩

Wheat took a hit with the freezing temps. Best guess right now: we probably lost a few tillers, but the wheat has plenty more to recover. We need 5 to 7 days of warm weather before we can fully determine the extent of that damage. More to come. @kymesonet

Great conversation about sustainable/regenerative KY grain farms. Thanks to ⁦@beamsuntory⁩ for hosting the panel. ⁦@PetersonFarmsKY⁩ ⁦@USDA_NRCS⁩ ⁦@kywheatheart⁩ ⁦@TheRealKyCorn⁩ 📸’s by Ilka Balk, Seth DeBolt Barbara Hurt ⁦@beam_uky⁩

@markjthomas87 Do you have any with heads exposed yet? We’ve got some starting to split the boot on early maturities.

@PurdueCornGuy @PurdueAg @PurdueAgronomy Had the opportunity to walk plots with Dr Ohm couple of times; great example of dedication to ag research & teaching. Wheat growers of the Ohio River valley have been fortunate to have he & Dr Van Sanford @ UK working to better our industry.

Kentucky Bioprocessing has a potential coronavirus vaccine in pre-clinical testing. If that goes well and the right support can be secured, KBP’s parent company hopes to manufacture 1-3 million doses per week.
