Claude + OSH Cut designed a life-size brontosaurus in 30 minutes. Hundreds of unique parts, 2,248 feet of tube. 100% manufacturable.
Definitely needs a structural engineer, though. Our MCP says whether it can make the parts, and how, but not structural engineering. :-P
Starting today, all Steak n Shake buns are officially seed-oil free. The buns are now unapologetically drenched in pure Grade AA Wisconsin butter.
The grass-fed, grass-finished Steakburger in a seed-oil-free bun is a new level of quality. Steak n Shake is breaking new ground with tastier, healthier options at affordable prices.

This machine is seriously so cool.

Today I showed a foundry buyer this used 20-ton Class E Hot Melt bridge crane.
New one: +$1.2 million and 12–16 months to build.
This one: running in a few months.
That’s the difference between pouring metal this year or watching an empty building while you wait.
We buy equipment like this when nobody wants it. Betting that American foundries would need it again. We don’t have a PO yet, if he’s not our buyer, I’m confident another one is right around the corner.
How I got my first customers:
- I kinda cheated because I was my first customer. I needed parts made that no one wanted to make, so I bought some equipment to make them myself. Cash flow negative.
- I figured a few of my friends and family would use the service too, since they are all fabricators and into hobbies and cars. Turns out friends prefer to pay in beer and burgers. Cash flow negative, but I got good feedback and learned how to run the operation.
- Went to a couple local sheet metal shops and let them know they could sub out to me since I had capacity. That got me a couple jobs here and there. Cash flow negative but building a reputation for fast turnaround
- still had capacity and told those shops that I could do all the weird stuff they didn’t want to do (qty 1, weird geometry, Etsy stuff). We said yes to everything. Pretty soon I was getting referrals from a few shops in town. Cash flow negative, but making a little money
- built a website and started showing off parts that we made on IG. Got a few followers and they started telling their friends
- spent some money on Google search ads. Got lots of clicks, but the work we were quoting was bad. Lots of weird stuff that wasn’t manufacturable. This showed us that we had to teach people how to design for sheet metal, so we started doing lots of how-to documentation and videos. That helped a lot. Nearly break even, not bleeding as bad
- covid hit, got a few big orders for sneeze guard parts, battery systems for ventilators, covid keys, other random stuff for social distancing. Break even! (besides Capex investments)
- continued to grind and deliver. The best advertising and marketing is a good product. I’ve done paid ads, PR, sponsorships, giveaways, billboards, you name it. The only thing that matters is having a good product and giving your customers what they want.
- so far I haven’t found a magic bullet, it takes years to build up trust and loyalty. I haven’t ever seen an ad for McMaster, but they have a helluva product and reputation, so I don’t think they really need to advertise now. It took them a while though.
- if I had to do it all over, I’d probably do it the same way: focus on making a great product and customer experience. I always think about those little restaurants with no sign, but they have a line around the block. If you make the best tacos in town, word will get around
Interesting. Caffeine half-life calculator. Shows how much caffeine you have in your system around bedtime and by how much this can impact sleep. https://t.co/ZqGYASQir8
Engineer: OSH Cut can put custom metal parts on my desk tomorrow.
Purchasing: Yes, but we need them to fill out a twenty page onboarding form, sign a custom NDA, and agree to our terms of service. Oh, and we want to hand-copy this quote into a PO, and pay them in 90 days.
A lot of y'all have been hitting me up in my various comments sections asking about what *may* happen (probably will) at midnight.
Well..... I've been in contact with politicians/lawyers/IOIs/state reps/etc.... over the last 48 hours pretty much constantly. If it goes through, there will be some nuances that will be important.
I'll be dropping a video sometime tomorrow, depending on how everything plays out, with all the details I can provide but some initial things to consider:
1. Some states have laws pertaining to the NFA - *most* of those will still be in play.
2. We (FFLs) still haven't received any guidance as of this post which will put FFLs that do transfers in a tough spot tomorrow. Most are mom and pop shops without attorneys on staff so please extend grace to them in the near term.
3. For some people in some places, "making" and "transferring" are legally different.
4. I know a lot of y'all are trying to join GOA (y'all can use QR code below to sign up) so you'll be covered as a plaintiff and I know their site keeps crashing due to this but it's coming back every few minutes so hit refresh accordingly...
If this happens - it'll be the biggest "win" in restoring our 2A rights in A VERY LONG time which is insane to even type out but it's true.
Thank you to all of y'all who have watched/called/written emails/etc... over the last few years. Without y'll this would have never happened 🇺🇸💯

Today marks the European launch of PRIMA, the first and only treatment to be commercially available that restores functional central vision to patients with geographic atrophy caused by dry age-related macular degeneration, a leading cause of blindness.
The first European commercial implant of PRIMA is expected soon.
Do you know what the first signs of a heart attack are for 30% of the people who have heart attacks?
Sudden Death
Well, that’s what I was told when I went to the Cardiologist recently. Had a few chest pains that I ignored over the year. I’m healthy, workout, etc. Doc still scolded me. He said don’t play games with ANY symptoms post 35.
Introducing "standby" production. Still faster than traditional shops, faster than Xometry, and lower cost than China.
You can now order parts for single-digit dollars and stop by either of our two US factories and pick it up. Or we can ship it to you. @OSHCutInc
