The even nastier part is that once other people know you’re being wagemogged, the pay gap becomes social information.

It doesn’t just signal that management values you less. It gives colleagues permission to value you less too.

It’s the defeated-lobster effect: once status loss becomes visible, others adjust their behaviour around it. The resource gap becomes a hierarchy signal.
