Leone Wandera, you are right. Today, I was kicked out the Court for wearing well pressed Olive Fatigues Overalls yet the two Lady Judges were wearing V shaped madoa madoa silk vests in Court. This discrimination against Soldier Advocates should be dealt with.
I write to express a profound concern regarding the inconsistent dissemination of court notices across various court stations in Kenya. I have realised that most stations are failing to upload essential notices; such as adjournments, rescheduling, or cancellations when courts are not sitting to the designated Judiciary Cause List website. Instead, these critical updates are being shared informally through local WhatsApp groups associated with the courts.
Not all litigants, advocates, or self-represented parties are members of these WhatsApp groups, leading to exclusionary outcomes. Vulnerable groups, including those in remote areas, low-income individuals without consistent digital access, or newcomers to the legal process, are disproportionately affected. This results in missed hearings, unnecessary travel costs, procedural delays, and potential miscarriages of justice, eroding public trust in the judicial system.
To address this systemic issue, I urge the Judiciary to issue an immediate memo to all Heads of Stations mandating that all court notices be promptly uploaded to the official Judiciary Cause List website as the primary and mandatory channel.
Supplementary use of WhatsApp groups may continue for convenience, but they should not substitute the official platform. This directive would ensure inclusivity, standardize procedures nationwide, and reinforce the Judiciary's commitment to impartial and efficient service delivery.
I kindly request your prompt attention to this matter and would appreciate a response outlining the steps to be taken.
Yours sincerely,
Kariuki Kinyua Esq.

Dating your coworker is not a ground for termination. An employer has been ordered to pay Kshs 790,398.00 after dismissing an employee simply because he fell in love with a co-worker.
Dominic Mutuku Mulavu, a driver at World Vision Kenya for 12 years, was summarily dismissed in May 2024 for allegedly breaching the organization’s Safeguarding Policy. The employer claimed he had engaged in a prohibited relationship with a “beneficiary.” However, evidence showed that his partner, Mercy Kailu, was an independent businesswoman, not a beneficiary and that their three-year relationship was consensual and intended for marriage. The employer failed to prove otherwise.
The Court found the dismissal substantively unfair. While the disciplinary process met procedural standards, the employer had misapplied its own policy to a private and lawful relationship. Applying the reasonable responses test, the Judge held that no reasonable employer would terminate employment in such circumstances. Mulavu was awarded one month’s salary in lieu of notice and eight months’ gross salary as compensation.

And as Carl Jung said, no matter how isolated you are and how lonely you feel, if you do your work truly and conscientiously, unknown friends will come and seek you.
BTW it is not the ROLE of any Government to Create Jobs.
Its is the ROLE of government to create an ENVIRONMENT for enterprises to create employment. This happens through predictable Tax Laws, Regulatory stability, Investment in infrastructure, Access to Skilled Labor etc
—VAT collection declined 26.3% 📉 with a KES2.37B shortfall in October
—PAYE fell KES 1.21B, affected by large taxpayer offsets and lower monthly employee cash payments.
—Domestic Excise Duty dropped KES 573M, as beer, bottled water, tobacco, and soft drink manufacturers contributed less.
—Excise duty on money transfers decreased Sh728M due to lower transaction values.
—Import duty, excise, VAT, and IDF also underperformed with Sh2.87B deficit, impacted by reduced non-oil import values and increased exemptions.

Taxpayers will be funding medical cover for public servants outside SHIF.
They did say SHIF is all we needed but turns out it needs complementing.
