@SenTomCotton weird..
i guess it's possible they actually know about the ceasefire but also know we just signed a deal that guarantees their protection and actually pays them to do their worst?
@ArmchairAtty you mean you don't reckon the jury says "welp, they gave it the old college try, let's let 'em keep their one hundred and seventy two million dollars.."?
@JustinWStapley AGREED..
and i think this illegal war is the best illegal war we've had in a long time.. kinda kidding - kinda not.. i think it's a "good shoot"..
BUT.. that doesn't mean we'll necessarily win it, and no matter who broke the rules before, the rules are there for a reason..

quick reminder for everyone who thinks they know exactly who wins and loses with regard to today's scotus ruling on broker liability:
to a jury, there is no such thing as a safe truck..
@FreightWaves goodness gracious.. i love this argument that suggests it's beneficial for a business to have a $100MM target on their back..
they won't have ONE SINGLE CASE.. they'll have dozens of cases that will get bigger and bigger..
@freightcaviar is your point here that we can all just assume if the court is allowing states to hold brokers accountable, then the liability will naturally flow upstream to the shippers?
or is there something in the language of this decision that you think spells out new or increased risk?
@TimothyDooner@supertrucker@atutruckers and then all you need is a jury that will say "welp.. they had highway so i guess they can keep their $100 million.."
@John__Ferguson@benjaminhgordon it will never be enough..
bottom line will always be "somebody is hurt and somebody has to pay.."
no jury is going to say "welp.. you had highway so i guess you can keep your money.."
