My heart tried to kill me once. MSU Bobcat alumni. Husband and father. Farm and ranch in NE Montana with my dad, grandpa, and pomeranian (RIP). An avid AWL
when the weather is good we should celebrate the weather man and carry him around on our shoulders like a hero, but when the weather is bad well…we should beat his ass and kill him
I think we have a massive disaster/wreck in NE MT and NW ND. Dirt is drifted like snow banks. Fert that should be 3+” in ground is on top. So dry and likely missing rain this weekend. Uncharted territory here
@ndcorngrower Not going to see near as many lentils around here this year. IMO peas going in will be close to normal. A lot more canola, flax, and durum on durum going in. Soybeans don’t quite make it over to my area unless it’s under a pivot
@lalum_steve Yeah, I’m only 32, but that was far and away the worst day I have been a part of. When my grandpa says he hasn’t seen anything like it, that’s something. He’s 83 in July.
@angrycowboy1@sspraguejr I was born in ‘94 so have only heard stories about the 80’s but my grandpa said yesterday was worse than anything he experienced then.
@CLimesand23 I haven’t seen canola stubble, but yes the durum stubble. The longer stripper header stubble is plugging up the fences and all bunched up.
