In fact entry level boys in Deloitte don’t earn as much as ETs in the bank. Some of us plied this route on our way to our current industry & still retain contacts there.

I am very pleased to note that Liberty School, Ikota, the school that Ms Folake Olaleye referenced in the quoted video has issued a statement on the issue.

I think that their statement (below) is compassionate and supportive. It includes offers to help get her children back into school and financial assistance. I hope that Ms Olaleye takes the school up on their offers.

Added to the support that many kind-hearted Nigerians have rendered, I pray to hear good news in the near future that she is doing well, her children are back in school and her life is back on track.

I got into uni very young and dumb

First year my parents especially my Mum

Paid every single penny I was supposed to pay even the smallest unnecessary thing including a wardrobe change

I was home one day and she told me someone has been taking money from her account

Together we went to the bank and after explaining they gave us a form to fill out

In that same bank we got a call from someone claiming they are customer support

That money is being moved from her account that we should call out our ATM card pin for them so they can block it

Not in my wildest dream did I ever think this was scam nor have I heard of this kind before.

So I…… single-handedly called out those numbers to them over the phone

they said thank you!

And wiped my mum’s acct to almost zero

I think they left only about 20k there

My mum was there with me and we were at the bank but I was the one that answered the call

Her business money all gone!

When we knew we were finally scammed it shattered everyone

I saw my mum CRY

I remember this like yesterday even tho it was over 8yrs ago

You know what I don’t remember???

My mum blaming me or even getting angry at me

She never scolded me
She didn’t act angry towards me

Her attitude towards me never changed

Even tho I was the one that answered the call and stupidly gave the information out

When she calmed down you know what she asked me?

“Is there anything left to pay in school that you need urgent that might hinder your admission if not paid on time? I still have some quality items I can sell to get the money”

This broke me!!

I don’t know the kind of parents y’all have

But mine is my responsibility

Watching them get old hurts like h*ll already.

One of my greatest fear is them not enjoying my money

That’s why I pray day and night for God to keep them for me till the day I’d retire them and give them only one Job

Spending my money anyhow they want living lavishly so long as they are happy.

Else you really have bad disgusting parents

I see no reason why you shouldn’t take care of them especially if you have the means too.
