@mutungadzimwe @baba_nyenyedzi I think ZiG is at it's infancy. Official stats re @ 2.5t + $100m. So, Zim must build more reserves first b4 sales. And yes, this can take us a couple of years. Fo any currency yu want 2 b adopted, it simply requires political commitment. Reserves re secondary.

@ZimTreasury Great that you are showing some policy flexibility. However, given dwindling maize stock & likely below average harvest in 2024 owing to El Nino conditions, VAT on all basics must be scrapped. Access to food & affordability of the same must be prioritized to cushion the poor.

@baba_nyenyedzi Some of us have been saying this since Feb 2023 when this animal was introduced: Blended inflation is meaningless. It mask the actual cost of living particularly for ZWL earners & distorts other facets of the economy such as asset valuation, wage & contract negotiations, etc
