I am an Open Merit student from Kashmir.
I studied under a flickering lantern while the valley burned with curfews.
I walked miles in snow to reach a coaching centre that shut half the year.
I fought insomnia, poverty, and fear, only to score marks that should have opened every door. But they slammed every door on my face.
Out of hundreds of posts, I was allowed to compete for crumbs, sometimes 8%, sometimes 30%, while 70% was already booked before the exam even began.
My rank did not matter.
My sleepless nights did not matter. My merit didn’t matter.
Only the certificate I was born without mattered.
They told me wait for rationalisation.
We waited. We begged. We protested.
They laughed, postponed, formed committees, and quietly finished the loot.
Today the last notification came.
The cycle is complete.
Open Merit is officially buried alive.
I have nothing left to lose now.
No job to hope for, no future to plan, no faith left in https://t.co/aAxkvYK5Po listen carefully, you princes of dynasties, you brokers of quotas, you who sold my tomorrow for your votes
2029 is coming.
I wnt shout anymore.
