@mw_formation@tkped@crankitshankit@samcehrlich I get why schools do it and agree with it. My gripe is that for some programs the athletes aren’t even athletes. If you flood the zone with too many teams you get pretenders. I’m not sure that’s good for anyone.
@mw_formation@tkped@crankitshankit@samcehrlich I think they are doing it. I know 3 D3 schools in my area that are really proactive: one has 100+ kids on lacrosse (zero a few years ago), one is offering acro/stunt/comp cheer and has 35 coed athletes, and another has a legit E Sports lab/facility.. whatever you want to call it.
@mw_formation@tkped@crankitshankit@samcehrlich My kid wrestles in college. I'm saying schools are adding teams to prop up enrollment regardless if kid has ANY ability. The participation numbers don't support it.
I support women's wrestling... if they can wrestle.
@mw_formation@tkped@crankitshankit@samcehrlich the biggest joke now is taking any kid and pretending they are an athlete just to prop up enrollment. Esports is just one area. Schools are adding women's wrestling at a crazy rate. More teams than there are real athletes.
@UCF_Steeler@PaulZeise do you know how long it takes to travel 11 miles in Paris? It's not a real issue, except on X because of the propaganda algorithm.
@BobGreenburg Most of this stuff is fake/political propaganda and Musk messing with the algorithm. I've been to Paris 3 times in past 7 years. Not my favorite destination but far safer than most U.S. cities.
@OlenaRohoza my theory is about the same but I think Putin may have just threatened to turn all the bots against him and ensure a crushing loss in mid-terms.
@kazmir_z@BobGreenburg "Hickory VFW Post 6166 said they offered the machines via Pinnacle Vending/Miele Gaming, who provided maintenance, while the Post kept half of the profits."
With the loss of the five machines, the post is expected to lose about $6,000 to $10,000 per month in revenue!
