@EddieComeaux I agree that the thousands of dollars that gets spent on the police should go to bettering the community and those who live in it especially the students. Students don’t need police roaming their schools they need teachers and mentors to help enrich their lives. #RacialJustice
Im on the streets 5 hrs a day protesting. As an POC in the education department I do not understand why you arent supportin your students and their personal or collective life struggles. Cut the final let us fight your battle #ucr150#BLM @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely@EddieComeaux
@Anastas71765079@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar I agree that student athletes deserve to have support in all areas they are promised especially financial and academic considering how many of them were promised scholarships and a good education with the trade off being they don’t get paid for their talents.
Student athletes are told to take classes that will help boost their GPA but won’t be valuable to them or their major but just so they can get the grade and continue to play. If academics are so important why are they passing students along? #ucr150@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar
@khuer002 @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely I agree that it’s unfair how the NCAA receives all the money from sponsorships and games while they can barely offer their athletes a good scholarship and routinely exploit them for their talents and hard work.
It’s very irresponsible to tell athletes that their academics comes first but, then offer them no help and constantly put pressure on them to succeed in their sport without any pay and expect them to not struggle. #Ucr150@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar
@ymart025 @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely I agree that the transfer process is completely unfair and puts even more stress on a student than needed. There are many reasons why a student may feel the need to transfer schools and the NCAA should make it a smoother process for them. #Ucr150@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar
If a student athlete wants to transfer to a different school the NCAA makes it nearly impossible to do so. If a student feels they have a better chance somewhere else the NCAA should make it a smooth transition for them not a difficult one. #UCR150@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar
@SeanParas9@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar I agree sean that the player safety always comes first but it seems like in many cases that is not a reality and a lot of players mental and physical health are set aside and not taken seriously.
The well being and physical and mental state of an athlete should always come first. But, unfortunately thats not a reality for a lot of student athletes whose injuries get pushed aside or not taken seriously which further complicates things. #ucr150@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar
@mayraitzelsalas @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely I agree and I think it’s quite sad that women athletes still have to fight to get their voices heard when it comes to their sports especially since laws have been passed to help this.
Title IX was created to protect people against gender discrimination but unfortunately we still see that same discrimination perpetuated in sports where woman have fought and spoken out against the unfairness done to them. #ucr150@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar
@torivargas09@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar It’s important that coaches and schools are transparent with their student athletes in what they are signing and put them first instead of when it comes to signing their academic and athletic future.
It’s important that student athletes are made away of everything that’s included in an NLI before essentially signing their life away because their lives are heavily affected by that contract. @MisssNallely @rabea_qamar #Ucr150
It’s quite ridiculous that the NCAA doesn’t pay their athletes because they are considered “amateurs” but will continue to exploit them for their own revenue during tournaments. #UCR150@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar
@BadajozSelena@MisssNallely @rabea_qamar I agree that college athletes give so much to their schools and in return they are silenced for voicing their concerns and opinions while the higher ups continue to profit off of them.
Student athletes bring in a lot of revenue for schools so to mistreat them despite the fact they are not getting paid is unethical and immoral especially when they voice concern time and time again. #Ucr150@helloJuJudy @rabea_qamar @MisssNallely
