I have been leading the effort to crack down on these schemes in Congress by educating consumers, improving coordination between government, law enforcement and telecom companies while working to increase penalties for the perpetrators.

These calls are more than a hindrance, they cost Americans billions of dollars a year. These resources are an important step to protect yourself and your family from fraud and scams.

FCC Chairman @BrendanCarrFCC says today’s AI warnings are running the same playbook as net neutrality, when critics predicted the “end of the internet” and he says the opposite followed:

"There's very few debates that are actually new. The core features of these debates just repeat. And I think the greatest comparator to today's AI debate is the net neutrality debate."

"CNN and others ran these banner headlines that said, end of the internet as we know it. And what are we seeing right now? We're seeing the same people run the same playbook when it comes to AI."
