Wednesday morning's crackdown on the pro-Palestine encampment at UW-Madison included brutal attacks on protestors, arrests without charges, and a dubious narrative, writes @scottgordonwi

Spent a couple hours at UW-Madison library mall this afternoon to be present as students, staff, faculty, alums, and community members sat in the sun, talked, snacked, read, learned, and chalked. This “protest” is as peaceful as can be, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
UW-Madison brutalizing and arresting its own faculty. The scenes this morning at Library Mall were horrifying. So much uncontrolled police violence aimed at people peacefully assembling.
@DrSamiSchalk Professor Schalk—I am so grateful to see you have been released but appalled to hear of this and wanting to help. I'll never forget the picture I saw of you being led away by the police. You are the bravest person I know.
