if democrats defended the working class like they defend israel trump wouldn’t be president

[JulesNader386 @Julesnader386]

Quick reminder that @hasanthehun actually shares the beliefs of Democratic Voters and the House Democrats attacking him do not.

BREAKING: The union of Starbucks workers is officially calling for a boycott of the chain.

@SBWorkersUnited has over 12,000 unionized baristas, and they're calling on customers to stop visiting Starbucks until they get a fair union contract.

[It's politics @uspolitics1111]

All they have is trans, muslim, communist, muslim, trans, communist.
It's getting so boring

I think people underestimate how big the DSA electorate is in Florida. It's radicalizing to grow up in a place where so viscerally developers have made a soulless playground of the beautiful forests and lakes I grew up in

[David Hogg 🟧 @davidhogg111]

To the young people that turned away from Dems in 2024: There is a growing movement across the country to build a better political system that actually represents you not AIPAC or the corporations that have fucked us our entire lives. But we can only win if you vote.

We usually bump older pieces in our contributor highlights, but I’ll make an exception for today and strongly urge you to grab a copy of David Ryan’s (@davidwryan) amazing collection, “Alligator,” published by C4G Books. It’s one of the best out there!

[Sera @schwarz_seher]

pretty good argument for the longer-term dangers of letting an AI think and write and decide for you

Floridians, satirists, awake! We're shouting out Brett Hymel Jr. 🐊

Three (or four, or five) cheers for Brett! 🏆️

It’s okay for hard things to be hard. On the subject of AI and writing, I like the way George Saunders puts it:

ICYMI: We love @bretthymeljr's painfully earnest (and wildly hilarious) take on metafiction, grief, and friendship. Read it before it hits the archive! @splitlipthemag

Two new pieces will go live on the website tomorrow, but before then, make sure to read The Bulb Region writer Brett Hymel Jr.’s (@bretthymeljr) hilarious short story, “Self-Care,” in @CincinnReview.

“When he was very young, he had watched his mother get carried off by a hawk. It seemed to him that cruelty came out of nowhere, with its power to change everything.”

Read Brett Hymel Jr.’s (@bretthymeljr) fantastic short story, “Two Mice,” in TBR today.
