i accidentally said “ok sounds good” instead of “based, facts” on the morning standup call at my fast moving NYC data startup and they threw me into hudson river
"hey man what do you do?"
"im building the future"
"thats awesome. but what do you actually do"
"i sleep 3-4 hours a night and grind all day with the team"
"that seems... unhealthy and unproductive. what are you guys working on"
"its not WORK. its a LIFE GOAL. if i dont put in 140 hours a week i LOSE! id rather die young and rich than live long and poor"
"dude thats grueling"
"thats the MISSION. everyone at the company agrees. they have the logo tattooed on their ass. if theyre not willing to die for this they're OUT"
"holy shit. what are you building, i bet its some future tech that changes history"
"an insurance company"
"..."
"it has AI in it"
"got it"
How it feels to understand that your 4 hour delayed flight is going to get worse, and eventually canceled, step out of the airport into a 200 mile uber and still get to the important meeting in the morning because you’re a high agency genius who knows the airline is either lying or has no idea what is going on.
Proud of how this case study with @Dropbox came out. Thanks to our customer for spending some time with us and talking about how @TextQL improved their FP&A analytics.
