For years we've been overwhelmed by the volume of code contributions we have to review, especially from new contributors. AI has made the problem much worse.
We are taking steps to reduce the burden on maintainers while still welcoming new contributors:

Introducing GPT-Realtime-2 in the API: our most intelligent voice model yet, bringing GPT-5-class reasoning to voice agents.
Voice agents are now real-time collaborators that can listen, reason, and solve complex problems as conversations unfold.
Now available in the API alongside streaming models GPT-Realtime-Translate and GPT-Realtime-Whisper — a new set of audio capabilities for the next generation of voice interfaces.
Feeling nostalgic now. Looking back at messages I received from r/steamcontroller users, the first one says "You guys should write a bible for reddit sub owners."
In a real way, Reddit prepared me for developing and managing a product used by thousands of colleagues at JPMorgan.
I was the mod for r/steamcontroller for ~4 years. I coined "Lizard Mode," ie when the controller is orphaned from Steam. This is still the official Valve term. I got it from Adam Carolla's podcast c.2008. He used "lizard brain" a lot to describe base, unconscious behaviors.
This gave me confidence to apply for a webdev job at Valve in early 2017, figuring that perhaps my role in their community might fly in place of an internal reference (which is/was their primary mode of hiring). It did not.
This is absolutely sick, and reminded me of a 2015 demo I made called Fun Button.

I just realized my wife filed an issue 11 years ago and it's still open... sorry honey.
Since this post, vibe coding became a reality. The next step is to formalize it in our workflows. Every user and stakeholder should have exactly the app that they want to use.
The Issues section on GitHub is already utilized kind of like an AI prompt. I expect future software will be made by users submitting change requests and AI fulfilling them within moments. Human engineers will only be necessary for keeping the system running smoothly.
