@nickythegood You nailed this. The Mets would be leading the NL East if they had Alonso. Senga would have an ERA of 1.37 and Peralta would be leading the Cy Young conversation. Can we move the fuck on already? Stearns has been a failure so far but Alonso wasn’t making a difference.

@BrandonTierney I’m pretty sure the plan was to sit fastball in a specific spot with a 2-0 count. McMahon got the location he wanted and saw fastball out of the hand but got a pretty nasty splitter instead. It’s not like he swung for the fences and missed a curveball in the dirty by a 2 feet.

That way they would get their guy and additional draft capital, potentially recouping the 3rd they lost.

@PSLToFlushing They signed a guy to the largest contract in professional sports history last year. If payroll goes down by $60 million this year I’ll admit I was wrong, but three guys the fans loved left after 6 seasons and 2 playoff appearances.
